Reading & Comprehension


I check for understanding when I read. If it doesn’t make sense, I back up and reread. I know
voracious readers work to be fluent. A good strategy is to reread familiar text until I don’t
sound like a robot. I can blend and read all of my consonant and short vowel sounds.
Writing & Grammar
I can sketch, sequence and label my ideas. When I add sentences, I know they need 5 things:
capital letter(s), spaces between words, correct letter formation/handwriting, the words
make sense, punctuation.
Math
Mastery Skill: I know my 10’s facts [0+10, 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5]. I can visualize, write,
build and recite them. My goal is to know these automatically. They will help with big math in
my future.
I can solve addition and subtraction problems within 10. I am building strategies for my math
facts, such as identifying the larger number and counting on, and relationships between
numbers. (4+5/5+4/9-5/9-4).
