NetLiNQ Software Overview
NetLiNQ designs, virtualizes and manages the data delivery function unifying different
applications and technologies into a single cloud-managed network. NetLiNQ
algorithms successfully apply to all targeted applications: backhaul, fronthaul and high
capacity enterprise access. Once the network is deployed, NetLiNQ becomes a Software
Defined Network (SDN) controller, monitoring performance, driving policies and managing
network growth by combining accurate predictions with field measurements.

Using a simple device template model with multiband propagation support, NetLiNQ easily
designs, optimizes and operates a multiband and multiple vendor wireless network.

Delivered on a server-based software platform, NetLiNQ supports multiuser access,

simultaneously running projects and predictions. The radio prediction core of the
system easily accommodates any radio transmission technology in virtually any
band. NetLiNQ also includes a powerful optimization framework initially
developed for the BLiNQ X-1200/1400 devices but also incorporates on
any of the supported bands.

Building on this common core, NetLiNQ comes with three different

application modules, which are selected based on operator
requirements, build plans and network scaling needs.

NetLiNQ Pre-Deployment Assistant

The Pre-Deployment Assistant allows you to: • Turnkey Network design requires only a simple set of inputs
• Automatically generate turnkey designs of hybrid such as:
(multiband and multiple device) outdoor wireless networks – Fiber PoP locations
for highest capacity and lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) – Small Cell Site locations and desired KPI (busy/peak
• Design and analyze overall network performance (planned data rates)
and/or deployed), link by link, taking into account all – Equipment types available (can be multiple types and
constraints such as: interference, incumbent protection, bands)
exclusions zones and other coexistence constraints dictated – Spectrum Assets available (can be multiple channels
by the operating band and bands with heterogeneous bandwidth and usage
• Use advanced propagation models and ray tracing to constraints)
provide turnkey network design and detailed reporting on: • NetLiNQ supports any band below 6 GHz, 60 GHz mmwave
– Extensive RF KPI’s of each link including: Availability, and extends to virtually any radio frequency band
RSSI, CINR and worst interferers • NetLiNQ periodically queries public databases and updates
– Complete data rate prediction (peak, busy data rate) information of all grandfathered stations and incumbent
driven by an intelligent spectral efficiency probability networks
curve that takes into account device specific MIMO and
beamforming capabilities The Pre-Deployment Assistant integrates an advanced self-
– Installation information for each radio node including learning engine that fine tunes prediction by leveraging all
optimal height and pointing (azimuth and elevation) information collected once nodes are deployed, and
– Reports on incumbent’s protection and/or required communicates back actual KPI values (the Live Manager
exclusion zones Application Module). NetLiNQ’s advanced prediction features
– Intelligent Link Profile analysis that identifies link profile allow the operator to eliminate costly trial and error cycles from
and indicates possible additional obstructions that are the network design and planning activities, while the automated
not included in the prediction model (3D digital maps network planning features produce turnkey solutions that are
do not include trees as most evolved statistical models efficient and scalable. Using NetLiNQ’s intelligent self-learning
do not have obstruction information) and self-tuning features, network design becomes simpler
and planning becomes more accurate, as networks grow and
mature.

NetLiNQ 3D Prediction Using Ray Tracing

Using a 3D report, the planning engineer can zoom in and
analyze differences between Google Maps and 3D Digital map
info, such as: new buildings, trees and others. This feature also
shows street furniture position in relation to propagation rays
which can be very useful in design optimization.

NetLiNQ Pre-Deployment Assistant–Link Performance

With one click on the link, the planning engineer can change antenna pointing,
power and other parameters plus obtain a real-time prediction of the link
performance, as well as the impact of the changes over the entire planning project.

Link Prediction Profile Single Automatic Network Design with Multiband and Multiple Equipment Topology
and Multiple Hop with Relay Starting with practical network inputs (fiber PoPs, Access Point locations, aggregation points,
available spectrum assets and transport technologies), NetLiNQ produces an optimum
network topology that combines millimeter wave and NLOS technologies to meet the
network design objective. The system produces a comprehensive network deployment
report that includes predicted data rate for each node and site, RF deployment parameters
for each node, link budget information, as well as information on external factors that might
affect the performance of each node (exclusion zones, foreign interference and others).

Point-to-Multipoint
Software Defined Backhaul for a Changing
and Dynamic Environment

BLiNQ Networks is the innovator

of Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS)
wireless backhaul solutions for
outdoor small cell networks and
enterprise connectivity. BLiNQ’s
X-1200 is the industry’s first dual-
band, sub-6 GHz Point-to-Multipoint
Adaptive Wireless Backhaul system
with unique simultaneous support
for both licensed and unlicensed
bands providing backhaul for
multimode 3G/4G/WiFi small cells.
The X-1200 backhaul system,
together with BLiNQ’s NetLiNQ
software suite, provides network-
wide intelligence, which adapts
to the complex and changing
environments associated with
Live Deployment Manager deployments in HetNet applications.
Live Deployment Manager is a key module of the NetLiNQ suite as it enables
communication between deployed nodes and the NetLiNQ server.

Live Deployment Manager is the bonding element between network design

and network operation, creating the mechanism for network function
virtualization. It enables the self-learning algorithms plus combines predictions
and simulations with actual live network performance.

Once several links are deployed, all subsequent planning is executed on top of
the live network mirror that is showing the performance of the deployed links.
In addition, it illustrates the impact that the links might have on the existing
network.

NetLiNQ Live Deployment Manager uses reports from devices supporting

cognitive features (scanning and sensing) to build area interference maps over
operational bands, channel by channel. Such interference and channel usage
maps are vital for shared network management and optimization.

NetLiNQ Live Deployment Manager Allows You to:

• Mirror and monitor live network KPIs
• Enable the self-learning tuning engine to produce accurate performance
estimations based on continuous reports from deployed nodes
• Profile further network optimization and expansion based on a live mirror of
the deployed network
• Produce Live Channel Usage maps that are key for deployments in 5 GHz,
3.5 GHz and the 60 GHz unlicensed space
NetLiNQ Capacity Optimizer
NetLiNQ’s Capacity Optimizer fully enables the virtualization of the wireless network as an SDN
architecture. Capacity Optimizer is the SDN controller that dynamically defines traffic routes
using network-wide intelligent algorithms that jointly combine beamforming, power control
and sophisticated point-to-multipoint scheduling techniques. Capacity Optimizer can also
dynamically broker channel usage to different “routes” making sure capacity delivery function
is enforced as expected.

NetLiNQ Capacity Optimizer Allows You to:

• Self-organize and optimize multiband, multiple device topologies using network-wide
radio resource management for highest network throughput, availability and reliability
• Constantly deliver optimal user experience by taking into account network demand patterns,
hot-spot adjustments, new nodes in network, time of day scheduling, and operator strategy
• Apply event-based optimizations and corrections to drive capacity steering and adapt to
clutter changes
• Implement Dynamic Spectrum Management policies that optimize hybrid network operation
over shared spectrum
