Definition of interview

An interview is a conversation where questions are asked and answers are given.
[1] In common parlance, the word "interview" refers to a one-on-one conversation
with one person acting in the role of the interviewer and the other in the role of the
interviewee. The interviewer asks questions, the interviewee responds, with
participants taking turns talking. Interviews usually involve a transfer of information
from interviewee to interviewer, which is usually the primary purpose of the
interview, although information transfers can happen in both directions
simultaneously. One can contrast an interview which involves bi-directional
communication with a one-way flow of information, such as a speech or oration
Types of interview
 The Traditional Interview
This is the scenario you’ll face most often: You sit down with a solo interviewer and
answer a series of questions designed to help her figure out if you’re a great
candidate for the job.

 The Phone Interview

Asked for a phone interview? A call is typically a first-round screening to see if

you’re a fit to come in for a full interview, so nailing it is key. You’ll want to prepare
just as you would for an in-person interview, with some key adjustments for the
phone format.

 The Skype Interview

Skype video interviews take the phone-screening interview to the next level, and
they’re becoming a regular part of the job application process for many companies.
From choosing the right on-screen look to making sure all of your tech systems are
a go, you’ll want to be 100% ready for your TV debut.

Definition of polls
An opinion poll, often simply referred to as a poll or a survey, is a human research
survey of public opinion from a particular sample. Opinion polls are usually
designed to represent the opinions of a population by conducting a series of
questions and then extrapolating generalities in ratio or within confidence intervals.

Types of polls

 Standard Polls
Poll Everywhere has five standard types of polls: multiple choice, open-ended
questions, Q & A, rank order, and clickable image. Each of these polls can be
divided into two categories-those that allow both web and text-message responses,
and those that only allow web responses.

 What’s the Difference between Polls and Surveys?

Poll Everywhere draws the following distinction between polls and surveys:
Poll: a single, stand-alone question
Survey: series of polls presented in succession.
