System issue. Spirit is being hindered, quenched because of our bad systems.

Brother and the Apostle Paul.

Eight Systems of a Church

1. THE WORSHIP PLANNING SYSTEM

How you plan, implement and evaluate the worship services at your church.
Is there a system if strengthened that would allow the Spirit to better move?
Sing about God's love. Preach about God's wrath.
She would sing about God's wrath. He would preach about God's love.
Rare Sundays. Would be on the same page. Wow! The Spirit really moved.
Really, the issue was that they didn't have a good system.
Wasn't telling her what he would be preaching on.
Called her on Thursday and told her what he would be singing so she could rehearses
the choir on Thursday.
Reinforced.
Wasn't a Spirit issue, it was a system issue.

Planning honors God.

How far in advance are you planning service, your sermon.

Sermon is a good stew. Has to sit on the pot long enough for it to simmer. Have it done
by Thursday so it can best be delivered on Sunday.

God can work through planning.

How to you get better? Evaluated experience is a good teacher.

Evaluate the next day.

All you need to do is getter better is one percent better in one week. Little changes. How
can I better plan? Implement? What can we do to evaluated?

2. EVANGELISM SYSTEM

We all want to reach more people.

Double first time guests.
Spirit wants people to be saved. 2 Peter 3:9. God wants people to be saved.
If that's what I want and the Spirit wants, how can more people be saved?
Strengthen evangelism system.
You have one. It just may not be very strong.

How we attract people into our church and mobilize our church in the community.

Idea of Big Day. (In the book Ignite. Plan three a year, Feb, Easter, Fall and one in
summer.) Mobilize entire church to invite people to these big days.

Strengthens like you strengthen a muscle. Get better.

Praying for three people who are lost.

Preach on relational evangelism.
Is the church mobilize.
Do you have a system to get them growing.

Do you have a clear written specific process for growing new believers?

Have to attract them to your church.

Do you have a clear written plan for what comes next.

WRITE IT ON PAPER!

3. ASSIMILATION SYSTEM

Doesn't have to get them to come.

This has to do with getting them to come back.

Been teaching this one the longest.

His best-selling book is Fusion, which is about the Assimilation system
How to turn first time guests into fully engaged members of our church

Searcy is an expert on assimilation.

If you can make a few tweaks you can get a lot of people to come back.

The power of assimilation. Strengthen this one, you'll grow.

Just get people to come back.

Are you praying over the people who came? Pray over those cards?
Go back and get those guests from the previous year.
Do you have fun events just for first-time guests
Doing anything that's preventing them from coming back (making them raise their
hands) … many want anonymity

Are you sending a form letter to first-time guests?

Handwritten notes. Handle the card. Write them a sincere note and ask them to come
back. Just like the bride who writes those who gave her gifts.

Journey has a 40% assimilation rate

4. SMALL GROUPS SYSTEM

Lots of different ways to do.

Do you motivate
How do you reproduce
How to you raise new leaders.
Don't want to "split" rather "reproduce"

Sunday School will get about 50% in worship. That was a good Sunday.

Closed groups. Life groups 30%

Stress and release free market semester based small group system
Start and stop like a college. Free market -- people get to choose.

5 MINISTRY SYSTEM (VOLUNTEER SYSTEM)

Stop thinking about your need for people. Need is a four-letter word.
That word pushes people away.
Replace "need" with "opportunity."
make a difference with their life, to serve, to become more like Jesus Christ. I came not
to be served. Give of time, talents, abilities in ministry system.

Say people are just lazy.

Not bad serving mentality.
What is the system.
How do they get their feet wet?

Ministry lake.

Mobilize 50 of regular attenders serving one hour a week

Philosophy of ministry

How do I allow people to get their feet wet

Shadow people

STEWARDSHIP SYSTEM

a. non-givers - we often allow people to move up. generous churches are led by
generous leaders. creating a culture of stinginess and greed instead of generosity
b. initial givers
c. regular or systematic givers. (not full tithe)
d. tithers - bring full tithe. very discipline
e. extravagant givers - give far above minimal level of blessing (10%)

generosity ladder
maximize about the stewardship system

people give when opportunity is in front of them.

people don't give to need, they give to vision.

go throw away small giving envelopes. can't put big money in small envelopes

the better the envelope; the more like people are to give.

put an envelope in every bulletin with vision and mission of church

fit a business size check. will notice an increase

offer online giving

Leads to 25% to 50% increase

7. THE LEADERSHIP SYSTEM

How do you develop leaders at all level.

Be the kind of leader who wants to grow and develop
Growing churches are led by growing leaders
Personal growth precedes church growth

Way to recruit staff

8. THE STRATEGY SYSTEM

Create a checklist. How are we doing?

Things you can go to work on.

Start with assimilation, then go to stewardship
