1. The VPLabs software can be accessed on “Remote Lab 1”, “2”, “4”, “5”,
“6” or “12”
VPLabs Access:
1. Open the “My VPLab.exe” using the shortcut on the desktop
(Do not go into the “VPL” folder. Use the shortcut on the desktop)
1. Once you have opened the software, you may be prompted to log into the
simulation package (see screenshot below). If you are prompted please type in
the username: James and the password: Buchan. (No other username or
password will be accepted) Please note that the username and password is
case sensitive.
2. Please also note that to enter the User Name or password; you must click on
the button ‘proceed’, do not press enter on your keyboard as it will not work.

3. After you have logged in to VPLabs, press on the button on the bottom of the
screen that reads “Search the Whole VPLab Content”.
5. Depending on which course you are taking, you will have to select the
relevant category. (“Electricity AC” or “Pressure” or “Fluids”, etc.)
6. We will use “Electricity AC” for this guide. But the same steps apply to the
other categories.
9. After a few seconds, a window may pop-up, asking if you want to copy this last
simulation into “My VPLab” – Click “No Thank You”
10. Then re-open the “Transformer” (or whichever exercise you are running)
window from the taskbar at the bottom of the remote lab desktop (as below):

11. REMEMBER to close ALL the VPLab windows when you are done.

3. Once logged in, Click on the “Remote Lab” tab or from the top left of the
screen (the icon looks like a clock or stop watch) and it will open the Remote
Lab Tab.

4. Access the Remote Lab by clicking on the icon that looks like a small
computer screen and a satellite dish.
5. When you access a Remote Lab, it will prompt you to enter a password. The
password is: demopass
