Art 1 Learning Objectives:

 Use Perspective to Create Depth


 Adding Details to Create a more Realistic Drawing
 The use of Artistic Freedom to personalize the
Perspective Drawing artwork

Project Expectations:
The final result of this project will be a finished artwork using perspective drawing techniques (1-Point
Perspective, 2-Point Perspective, etc.). Your final image should be able to show that you fully understand how
to use perspective drawing techniques to create depth in an image. You will also need to add in details to make
your scene more realistic as well as add in more than just the basics that we covered in the class demo. Your
finished artwork will have realistic qualities such as textures, shadows, etc.

The Process:
 Begin by selecting what type of Perspective you would like to use for your project.
Sketch out your idea on the project planning sheet and have it signed off by Mr.
Shirley. (Your practice sheet does not have to be perfect, just enough to show that you
know what you are doing.)
 Once signed off, you will get a sheet of paper no smaller than 9”x12” and begin your
drawing by lightly sketching your design. (Do not draw your lines dark until you have all
of the objects in the scene).
 Once you have all of the objects in your scene, you will add in details such as, but not
limited to, color, textures, shading and shadowing, etc.
 When finished, sign your name in the bottom right hand corner of the front.

How You Will Be Assessed:

Your Grade will be determined on the following criteria: Vocabulary:


 Craftsmanship: How well you used the materials and
constructed the project.
 Originality and Creativity: Your Ideas are your own, not
 Perspective
copied from other sources, your creativity will be  Depth
obvious from the visual communication of the idea.
 Meeting the Objectives of the Assignment: Did you  Horizon Line
follow the Guidelines and Expectations?
 Vanishing Point
Your final grade will be determined using the Reflection Sheet
and Grading Rubric you will fill out and turn in with the
 Converging Lines
completed project
