our schooling days are long over.

Many people are of the opinion that the only use of a dictionary is to give us the
meaning of a word. While this may be the primary function, there is a host of other
amazing things that a dictionary will enable us to do.

Using a dictionary, we can find out the correct spelling of a word and other ways
to spell it. The origin of a word and its areas of usage are also sometimes shown in a
dictionary. We can find out important things about an entry; for instance the type of word
it is, whether it can be counted or not and even examples of usage. Some dictionaries also

So remember, investing in a good dictionary especially one with the latest jargon

Write a summary on the uses of a dictionary.

Your summary must:

• not be more than 60 words, including the 10 words given below.
• be in continuous writing ( not note form)
• be written in ONE paragraph.

Use your own words as far as possible without changing the original meaning.
