Troubleshooting
• From a troubleshooting standpoint, there is no past customer history of
issues encountered, so there are no troubleshooting guidelines at this time.
• However, the following standard information should be gathered when
troubleshooting issues with the new document repository:
– Fiddler traces
– Screenshots
– Managed server log files for FoundationServices0 or EPMServer0 managed servers
– There are no Reporting and Analysis Framework logs to gather

Other Issues
Copyright © 2017, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Copyright © 2018 Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. 21
Other Known Issues
• When configuring the FR DB using the EPM configurator, there is no need
for a separate FR DB/schema, the foundation DB configuration takes care of
laying down the required Financial reporting/documentation repository
tables. Essentially the tables get laid during the registry DB configuration by
default.

Other Known Issues Continued…
• External Administrative users do not see the explore module, the
workaround is provision the user with "Viewer in addition to the
administrative roles that the user may have to let the affected user be able
to see the Explore module in Workspace.

Changes/Advantages
The non existence of Reporting Analysis Framework Agent and the RA
application simplifies maintenance of the reporting module.
The data folder which was previously called “RM1” no longer exists, the
financial reporting artifacts are now stored in the relational DB, this
eliminates the requirement to have a shared data directory defined to
facilitate clustering, in a clustered setup, both the FR nodes in the cluster are
configured against the underlying DB.

Changes/Advantages Continued…
Log maintenance is simplified as the diagnostics/logs/ReportingAnalysis
directory is no longer available.
Previously reported timeouts or long waits while logging into the workspace
application when the corresponding modules were offline is also simplified
considering the reporting module is now essentially financial reporting, this
has helped improve response times navigating through the
workspace/financial reporting UI.

Changes/Advantages Continued…
The Tools->Install menu for the Financial Reporting Studio thick client is no
longer available, it is recommended to use the Financial reporting Web
Studio client as the Web client has now reached parity with the FR Studio
thick client, however the thick client still gets laid out during installation and
is available at the following default location:
Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/products/financialreporting/install/bin
/FinancialReportingStudio.exe
The “Open In Studio Preview option” has been removed from Workspace.

feature, this is no longer available in the new document repository of
Financial Reporting.
