Tajuk : Pupils’ concentration during teaching and learning.

I did my pair teaching in Year 4. I found that when the set induction was conducted

2. ANALISIS ISU YANG DIFOKUSKAN (PUNCA DAN KESAN ISU) :


As we all know, this problem is widespread among students today. The issue of increasing
concern in this century is that when some students are unable to read even if they have reached
the age they deserve. This has led many parties, especially parents, educators and the public to
worry about this going on. I also learned that there are various reading materials placed in this
class. Pupils take the books and read during the break. It also fosters the attitude of reading
among the students.

3. KAJIAN LAMPAU (LITERATURE REVIEW) TERHADAP ISU (PENGALAMAN ATAU KAJIAN LEPAS) :
Through observation, I found that this class pupils had trouble in reading when I gave them a long
text. They could not be able to read fluently. I can see that they are having trouble in spelling the
word. Pupils try to spell a word even when it takes time. I also always help pupils with their reading
problems. There is one thing that is amazing in this class is eventhough some pupils have trouble
in spelling and reading, when I call them to read a passage they will try to read it with a great
interest.

4. CADANGAN DAN IDEA PENYELESAIAN MASALAH :

I have planned various things to reduce reading problems among year 3 pupils. As my first step,I
will provide a variety of reading text to them. I have also prepared reading texts using colorful
pictures. This is because students are very fond of seeing a colorful picture. Also, they will be
interested in reading the texts. Implicitly, it can foster reading spirit among the pupils. There is few
very weak pupils in reading. I also plan to set up a convenient reading card to enable them to learn
from the easy one. I want to make sure that this pupils are able to read simple sentences smoothly
and master a basic vocabulary group and can spell an unfamiliar word before entering the next
level.

5. TEMPOH MASA PENYELESAIAN :

It will take 3 weeks to recover this problem. There are also pupils who always aapproach me when
they have trouble in reading.

6. TINDAKAN SUSULAN :
I have started to reward the pupils who can read the text given well with minimal errors. With this,
many pupils are showing interest in reading in teaching and learning. According to Alias baba
(1998), the seriousness of pupils in reading can be seen when they begin to be reinforced or
rewarded. I also give stars to readers with good intonation and tone.

This is because, the pupils begin to show interest and take the initiative to read during the teaching
and learning process. In addition, they also raise hands and wanted to have the opportunity to

9. KESIMPULAN / REFLEKSI (KESAN TINDAKAN (PERLU) DAN HALANGAN (JIKA ADA) :


I am very happy to be able to identify this problem. As we all know, reading problems can also
affect pupil performance in other components besides language development components. For
pupils who are less efficient in reading will be left out in the learning session. Therefore, I feel I
have to find many more solutions to overcome this problem happening widely among year 3 pupils.
