Re: OK-5 General Election Brushfire Results

The following is a summary of results from a telephone survey of likely voters conducted
September 24-25, 2018. There were 1,407 respondents to the survey, with a CI of 2.61.

• Since the Sept. 4-6 Benchmark Kendra Horn has spent more than $150,000 on negative
ads attacking Colonel Russell.
• Those ads have not dented Colonel Russell’s position. Colonel Russell continues to lead
Democrat Kendra Horn 50% to 37% with 13% undecided.
• Russell remains popular among Republicans with 83% indicating early support.
• Even after Horn spending more than $150,000 on ads dealing with an issue that resonates
strongest with Democrat voters, 16% of Democrats still say they would vote for Russell
if the election were held today. This is unchanged from the Sept. 4-6 Benchmark.
• Cook Political Report lists OK-5 as solid Republican and Colonel Russell wins in all
three of 538’s projection models.
