Grace: My Lord Jesus, I beg for the grace of a thankful heart, a heart filled with awe and

wonder, knowing that God who is always near loves me unconditionally and that his love for me
is much more than I can imagine.

SS: a) Ps 139 (“O Lord you have searched me and you know me”.)
b) Is 43: 1-7 (“I have called you by name and you are mine”.)
c) Jn 3: 16-21 (God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.)
d) 1Jn 4: 7-16 (God is love.)

Points for Prayer and Reflection:

At this point in your life,

what are you most
grateful for to God?

List these blessings

down and clarify them.
Why these blessings in
particular? Take time
thanking the Lord for
each of these blessings.

When were those

moments when you felt
truly the Lord’s
unconditional love for
you? What were those
graced moments like?
Who were with you?
What was the Lord
saying and doing to
you then?
How were you responding to his love during those times? Go back to them and relish them
in your prayer.

Bring all these blessings and graced moments before the Lord and dialogue with him on
each of them. When ready, offer them all to him and entrust them all in his caring hands.

Be still before the Lord and just listen to him tell you repeatedly –

“I love you very much. You are most precious to me.

I will always be with you. I will never abandon you, and have never done so.
Do not be afraid. Trust me always. You are mine.”
End by simply being still and resting in the Lord’s love.

THE CONCLUSION
I imagine that today I am to die.

I ask for time to be alone and write down for my friends a sort of testament for which the points
that follow could serve as chapter titles.

1. These things I have loved in life:

Things I tasted,
Looked at,
Smelled,
Heard,
Touched.

2. These experiences I have cherished:

3. These ideas have brought me liberation:
4. These beliefs I have outgrown:
5. These convictions I have lived by:
6. These are the things I have lived for:
7. These insights I have gained in the school of life:
Insights into God,
The world,
Humna nature,
Jesus Christ,
Love,
Religion,
Prayer.

8. These risks I took,

These dangers I have courted:
9. These sufferings have seasoned me:
10. These lessons life has taught me:
11. These influences have shaped my life
(persons, occupations, books, events):
12. These scripture texts have lit my path:
13. These things I regret about my life:
14. These are my life’s achievements:
15. These persons are enshrined within my heart:
16. These are my unfulfilled desires:

I choose an ending for this document:

A poem—my own or someone else’s
Or a prayer;
A sketch
Or a picture from a magazine;
A scripture text;
Or anything that I judge would be
An apt conclusion to my testament.
