order. Strong commitment. Slow?
Active in Brazil and China.
NSR – Niigata Shipyard & Repair Smaller yard, 100% owned by MES. Eager
within the offshore segment.
Status
• Improved exchange rate has made life easier for the
yards, improved situation to compete with South Korea
and China
• LNG import from the US gives opportunity to build LNG-
carriers (JMU, MHI etc)
• Will be interesting to see how the Japanese yards will be
able to capitalize on their operations in China, Vietnam,
