JIMENO
Managing Partner, Jimeno Cope and David Law Office

Atty. Rita Linda Ventura - Jimeno is the managing


partner of Jimeno Cope & David Law Offices. She is
an Arbitrator; a Supreme Court-accredited mediator;
and a professor at the San Beda College of Law in
Alabang. She lectures in Mandatory Continuing Legal
Education seminars for lawyers. She finished her law
degree from the UP College of Law in 1985.

She was appointed as a member of the Technical


Panel for Legal Education under the Commission on Higher Education in 2009.
She was a member of the sub-committee on Rule Revisions of the Supreme
Court which amended Rules 41, 43, 58 and 65 of the Rules of Court. She was a
member of the technical working group which crafted the rules on whistle blowing
in the Judiciary and also a member of the technical working group which drafted
the rules of practice in environmental courts.

In 2004 she became the second only lady president of the Philippine Bar
association, the oldest and biggest voluntary association of lawyers in the
Philippines.

She is a regular columnist in Manila Standard Today and was a columnist


in People’s Journal for five years. She hosted two public service television and
radio shows entitled “Saklolo Abogado” and “Mom ko ‘to”.

She served as a Commissioner in the Constitutional Consultative


Commission in 2005 and was the Secretary General of the Charter Change
Advocacy Commission in 2006.

She was the first Filipino to be elected as director in the International


Criminal Bar – an association of International lawyers who practice in the
International Criminal Court in The Hague.
