Bhakti-Yoga

By EternalReligion.org
What is Bhakti-Yoga?

Bhakti means to utilize one’s

money, time, property, and
energy for God. The aim of
Bhakti is Yoga. ‘Yoga’ means to
link with the Supreme.
Definition of Bhakti from the Bhagavad-Gita
“Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever
you offer or give away, and whatever austerities
you perform – do that, O son of Kuntī, as an
offering to Me.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita
9.27)
Definition of Yoga from the Bhagavad-Gita
“What is called renunciation you should know to
be the same as yoga, or linking oneself with the
Supreme, O son of Pāṇḍu, for one can never
become a yogī unless he renounces the desire
for sense gratification.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-
Gita 6.2)
To perform Bhakti-Yoga, first
we have to know God. Thus to
use our money, time, property,
and energy in His service to
link with Him.
The 3 Basic Features of God
God is ॐnipresent - present everywhere
God is ॐniscient - knows everything
God is ॐnipotent - most powerful Person
Who is ॐnipresent?

“I am seated in everyone's
heart.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-
Gita 15.15)

“I am everywhere..” (Lord
Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.5)
Who is ॐniscient?

"As the Supreme Personality of

Godhead, I know everything that has
happened in the past, all that is
happening in the present, and all things
that are yet to come." (Lord Krishna,
Bhagavad-Gita 7.26)
Who is ॐnipotent?

"With a single fragment of Myself

I pervade and support this entire
universe." (Lord Krishna,
Bhagavad-Gita 10.42)
If one reads all the scriptures on
the planet, there is only one
person who has appeared many
times, very clearly declared
Himself as God, and also very
clearly proved Himself as the one
and only God. That person is
Lord Krishna.
On the left is Lord
Krishna. Completely
described in the Vedic
scriptures, seen, and
proven millions of
times. Based on the
Bible and the Koran,
God is not described.
God is only described
in the scriptures of one
religion, this is because
God is One.
God is One “I am the source of all
spiritual and material worlds.
Everything emanates from
Me. The wise who perfectly
know this engage in My
devotional service and
worship Me with all their
hearts.” (Lord Krishna,
Bhagavad-Gita 10.8)
“The whole cosmic order is
under Me. Under My will it is
automatically manifested
again and again, and under
My will it is annihilated at the
end.” (Lord Krishna,
Bhagavad-Gita 9.8)
“Furthermore, O Arjuna, I
am the generating seed of all
existences. There is no being
– moving or nonmoving –
that can exist without Me.”
(Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-
Gita 10.39)
Performing Bhakti-Yoga -

pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will
come back to Me. There is no servant in this world more
dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.”
(Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.68-69)
What Are The Regulated Principles that one must
follow to engage in Bhakti-Yoga?

To engage in Bhakti-Yoga (Devotional service unto

Lord Krishna). One must try to stop engaging in sinful
activities. There are 4 basic rules to follow.

1. NO KILLING OF ANIMALS – No meat, no fish, no

eggs, no leather clothing/furniture. The animals are
our brothers and sisters too

2. NO INTOXICATIONS – No alcohol, no drugs. The

women and children suffer the most from alcoholics
and druggies in families

3. NO GAMBLING – No casinos, no betting. The

women and children suffer the most from gambling
men who lose the livelihoods of families
4. NO ILLICIT RELATIONSHIPS – No sex outside
marriage, no relationship outside marriage. The
women and children suffer the most due to single
parent families caused by relationships outside
marriage.

All the above activities (Meat eating,

intoxications, gambling, and illicit relationships)
do harm to the most innocent of all living beings.
The women, children, and the animals. Thus one
must stop these sinful activities.
