Opening 1 Before I start, I would like to ask you a question: did you ever heard about

Let me tell you something that happened a few years ago. I was in high
school when one of my teachers asked me if I would like to participate at a
lecture about cyber security at the ‘Ștefan cel Mare’ University of Suceava .
At that time I found it really interesting and I still do, so today the topic of
my presentation is cyber security.
Opening 2 I am Ioana Matei, a Bucharest Poly first year undergraduate, studying

Structure My talk will be about 20 minutes. If you have any questions please write

called a cyber crime. If I didn’t arouse your attention with the examples from
above, let me tell you that world wide governments, police departments and
intelligence units have started to react. A fact that should raise your
awareness. There are two types of cyber crimes: first, when the computer is
used as a target and second, when the computer is the weapon. The first
one refers to using a computer to attack other computers (hacking, virus
attacks, etc.), while the second one means using a computer to commit real
world crime (credit card fraud, cyber terrorism, etc.). That concludes the
second part.
Main body 3 So now we come to how we can protect ourselves or better say how is

Summary I’d like to finish with a summary of the main points. First, cyber security is a
very significant component of computer science that helps protecting
networks, computers, programs and data from cyber attacks that could
really damage our lives. Secondly, it is protecting us from cyber crimes
whose number is increasing by the year. Thirdly, cyber security is keeping
our computers safe from people like hackers or predators using different
software products.
Conclusion There are three main conclusions that I would like to point out. First, the
only way to be really safe is to pay attention and to act smart in the virtual
world; second, people, not computers, create computer threats and finally,
any unprotected computer is like an open door for computer hackers and
predators.
