Monday ASSEMBLY and run 9-9.30am


Roll/ draw helpers of the day.
Writing- LI: TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO WRITE A RECALL AND CREATE A FLOWING STORY.
What did you do on the weekend? Use adjectives to describe how you were feeling. When finished, read/ conference with a partner to see if they can tell
how the partner felt.
10.05-10.15am Practice spelling
Reading- LI: FOR STUDENTS TO BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN THEIR BOOK AND TO ALSO LISTEN TO THE STORY AND
IMAGE WHAT THE ORIENTATION OF THE STORY MAY BE. (VCELA278)
Read to class, discuss differences between drawings of Lennie, and then continue reading. Read to self 10mins, then find a partner read to them (5 mins
each) but also explain what has been happening in the book.
Check who has been reading weekly.

Maths- LI: TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE LINK BETWEEN GROUPING AND FRACTIONS

Fractions: Use coloured blocks (get ten) and write fractions on the board. Create them and then draw/ colour in books.
If extra time, cut, find and name fractions.

Interactive fraction wall explain simple and equivalent fractions. Show that 2 ¼ make ½ and so on. Create anti-examples, so why a fractions don’t equal

Create a fraction using multiple smaller fractions using the fraction wall piece that were cut up and coloured.
Egg in vinegar- keep checking and seeing what has happened in the last 24hours and what might happen next.

Genious hour: until 12.20pm
Theme: Continue with the iMovie.
LUNCH
Science: Human science and skills or egg vinegar.
Reaction times: drop ruler from above (with a partner) and catch it. Write down what number your top finger landed on. Compare at the end.
Dominant side: divide page in half write left on the left side and right on the right side.
