1. GENERAL
The present document covers the general architecture and interfaces of the steam turbine
Control System, Generator, Air Condenser and its auxiliaries (STCS) supplied by AEN for
Al Shabab Combined Cycle Power Plant Project 2 modules (for each module:
4GT+4HRSG+1ST).

The supplied control system will be configured in such a way to allow the completely
operation from Main Control Room by our control system operator interface.
It will be possible to perform high level commands and overview supervision from the DCS
system supplied by the Owner.

The STCS equipment for the turbine/generator and its auxiliaries units will be connected
to the DCS system (supplied by the Owner), with the following interfaces:
• Hardware interface (for main interlocks, protections, high level commands, remote
set points for ST governor).
• Redundant data link interface including the main data exchanging in order to
perform a plant overall monitoring by DCS. Our standard provides OPC protocol to
interface ST Control System with DCS.

The STCS is based on digital distributed control system.

STCS system architecture and its related equipment are shown in the follow picture.

Note:
The C-Net, Control Network internal Symphony Harmony Platform, is redundant connection
amongst HCU and it doesn’t connect through Ethernet box.
