Jesus was a Jew, and like many Jew’s, sharing meals was an important
part of daily rituals as they were an opportunity to build and rebuild
relationships in the family.
Inform students that Jesus and his disciples ate a Passover meal
together before Jesus’ passion and death. Jesus’ Final Passover meal
with his friends is known as the Last Supper
Explain to students the Passover meal has been celebrated for over
4000 years and is still celebrated today.
Explain to students that Jesus came to invite all to draw on the Power of
God’s love. As people do so, they receive God’s guidance and help in
their lives. The power of God that Jesus proclaimed helps people to
overcome any difficulty in living as God wants
