1. General
1.1 Function general:
KG-1T type public address system owns functions of radio, playing, area
broadcasting, talkback, telephone interface and so on. It is applied to large and
middle ships, offshore oil platform, etc.
1.2 Function feature:
1. Main remote control box in wheelhouse could remotely switch on main unit
and select single-way or multi-way speaker output.
2. Main unit could be connected with 6 remote control boxes at most. Every
remote control box could remotely switch on main unit and select single-way
or multi-way speaker output.
3. Power amplifier consists of four broadcasting area output such as deck, cabin,
post and shout.
4. The area output volume of cabin and post could be controlled, but full volume
output will be forced in case of emergency.
5. It has functions of FM, AM and tape/CD playing.
6. There is hand microphone for broadcasting on the panel of public address
main unit. Single-way or multi-way output is optional.
7. The control of public address main unit has priority that main remote control
box takes first priority, other remote control boxes take second priority,
telephone remote control takes third priority and microphone on the panel of
main unit takes lowest priority.
8. System has function of talkback. Mutual talkback could be carried out
between main unit and every remote control box. Every remote control box
owns dual functions of remote control broadcasting and talkback.
9. Auto telephone remote control interface: dial the broadcasting control number
on the telephone connected to this interface and broadcasting to the areas of
cabin, deck and post could be carried out.
10. It will switchover automatically between main power supply and emergency
power supply.
11. System owns perfect protection function so that the equipment will not be
damaged in case of short circuit of amplifier output terminals.

2.4 Introduction of equipment

2.4.1 Public address main unit

There are hand microphone and player on the public address main unit. There is
also built-in 1W monitor speaker. There are four keys on the panel for speaker
output areas to control shout, cabin, deck and post respectively. For speaking by
hand microphone and remote control speaking, full volume output is forced. For
tape or CD playing and radio, the volume could be controlled. When speaker of
shout is working, other three lines will be closed forcedly. Speakers of cabin,
deck and post could be working simultaneously. Output volume could be
indicated by volume meter on the panel. Besides speaker output keys, there are
also 6 talkback keys on the panel for 6 remote control boxes respectively. Main
unit could talkback with one or several remote control boxes.
2.4.2 Player
Radio set is mounted in public address main unit and could receive FM and AM
program. Tape player or CD player is applied to playing tape or CD program.
The output could be given through speakers.
2.4.3 Main remote control box
There are hand microphone, volume control knob, speaker select keys and
talkback keys on the main remote control box. The speaker select keys are for
shout, cabin, deck and post speakers respectively. Talkback keys are for remote
control boxes and PA main unit. Talkback could be carried out between remote
control box and PA main unit. Main remote control box in wheelhouse takes first
priority. When speaking by it, other remote control boxes, telephone control,
radio or playing will not be operated. It is flush type.

2.4.4 Remote control box

There are hand microphone, volume control knob, speaker select keys and
talkback keys on the remote control box. The speaker select keys are for shout,
cabin, deck and post speakers respectively. Talkback keys are for remote control
boxes and PA main unit. Talkback could be carried out between remote control
box and PA main unit. The priority is lower than main remote control box.
According to the location and mounted mode, it consists of wall mount, flush
type, weatherproof, etc.
2.4.5 Speaker
Speakers consist of horn speaker, flush type speaker and wall mount speaker.
Horn speaker is located in open space and the power is 5～ 100W; Flush type
speaker and wall mount speaker are located in cabin and the power is 0.5～ 5W,
the volume could be controlled. There is also full volume control wire.
Generally, the constant voltage of speaker is 120V.
2.5 Notice
1. The sectional area of cable core for AC power supply should be not less than
1.5mm 2 an that for DC power supply should not be less than 2.5mm 2 . The
sectional area of cable core for connecting speakers should be not less than
1.0mm 2 .
2. Except shout speaker, the power summation of other speakers must not exceed
the output power of main unit; the power of shout speaker must not exceed
the output power of main unit.
3. The cables connecting remote control boxes should be shielded pair twisted
cables and the sectional area should be not less than 0.75mm 2 . Shielded net
should be connected with enclosure reliably. 1, 2 is in one pair and 3,4 is in
the other pair, which compose the cable of 2×2×0.75mm 2 .
4. In order to avoid noise due to feedback, remote control box should be located
away from speaker as possible. If main unit will be controlled by telephone,
the telephone should also be located not close to speaker.
5. Antenna of main unit is connected by coaxial cable with impedance 75Ω .
(Note: the insulation resistance between signal cable core, shield layer for
antenna and hull(earth) must be more than 10MΩ ).
6. The insulation resistance between all external cables connected to PA main
unit and hull(earth) must be more than 10MΩ ).
2.6 Ambient condition
Ambient temperature: enclosed area: 0℃～ +55 ℃ ; open space: － 25℃～ +70 ℃
Relative humidity: 90％ ～ 95％ (at 55 ℃ ±2 ℃ )
All equipments should be of measures for anti-collision, anti-vibration,
humid-proof, salt mist-proof and mould-proof.

4. Operation instructions
4.1 Broadcasting
Switch on main unit and press ON/OFF on the keyboard of main unit, after hear
the prompt tone, press area selection key such as SHOUT, CABIN, DECK and

POST, then full-volume broadcasting to relevant area could be carried out

through the hand microphone.
When select area, if SHOUT is pressed down firstly, CABIN, DECK or POST
key will be disabled. Broadcasting is effective only to shout speakers. If CABIN,
DECK or POST is pressed down firstly, SHOUT key will be disabled. However,
the area of cabin, deck or post that is not chosen could be selected.
After broadcasting, press ON/OFF again to exit.
4.2 Playing music by PA main unit
Switch on the part for radio &playing, then press ON/OFF on the panel and hear
dialing tone, 8 seconds later, tuning radio or tape or CD playing could be
carried out. At this time, music could be heard through monitor speaker of main
unit.
Press down ON/OFF again and music playing will stop.
4.3 Playing music to selected area
If music will be played to relevant area (shout, cabin, deck and post), switch on
the part for radio &playing, then press ON/OFF on the panel and hear dialing
tone, then press relevant area selection keys and tuning radio or tape or CD
playing could be carried out. At this time, music could be heard through
speakers in selected area.
Press down ON/OFF again and music playing will stop.
4.4 Remote control by remote control box
When broadcasting through remote control box, press down ON/OFF on the
keyboard and select shout, cabin, deck or post after hear dialing tone, then
remote control broadcasting could be carried out. The area selection method is
the same with that of main unit.
4.5 Talkback
The numbers for six remote control boxes are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, hereinto, 1 is
for main remote control box. If mutual talkback among remote control boxes is
needed, press ON/OFF key, after hear dialing tone, select the number of
required remote control box and press the key on hand microphone to broadcast,
then voice could be heard through the selected remote control box. If the other
party wants to respond, he should press ON/OFF and then speak.
When talkback is over, both parties should press down ON/OFF again to finish
talkback.
4.6 Telephone control
Take down the handset of connected telephone, dial the area number, then
broadcasting could be carried out to the selected area.
After speaking, hang up and system will return to original status automatically.

4.7 Player

4.7.1 Switch on
Press POWER key to switch on or switch off.
4.7.2 Select wave band
Press BAND key to select wave band: FM1—FM2—FM3—MW1—MW2
4.7.3 Radio
Press [<<], [>>] or turn the tune knob, radio program could be selected.
4.7.4 Playing
Put tape or CD in the box, it will play the program automatically.
4.7.5 Volume control
Press [<<],[>>]or turn the volume control knob, the volume could be controlled.
