I- INTRODUCTION:

Teaching is the noblest of all professions because all professions are just merely products by a
valued teacher. It is true that in every single journey of a certain individual may not be guided
impeccably without a teacher who shapes and directs him wholly to a right path where he wants to
venture. For this reason, teacher seemed to be a second to Christ since without him a world may
encounter turbulence and dilemma.

A Teacher is a person who helps others to acquire knowledge, competences or values. She/ He
inspires, motivates, leads, and plays a vital role in the lives of everyone. And to show the whole world
how much teachers are being loved and appreciated the United Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (UNESCO) created World Teacher’s Day and is observed every 5 th of October
every year. On this day, all kinds of different events are held all over the world. This includes
celebrations to recognize the contributions that teachers have made in the society.

In the Philippines, in order to give honor to all the teachers and to acknowledge their crucial role,
loyal service and dedicated commitment in developing globally minded citizens, nurturing families,
strengthening communities and building the nation, presidential proclamation no. 242 was promulgated,
declaring the period from September 05 to October 05 as “National Teachers Month’’ which was signed
on August 24, 2011 by His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III. This proclamation was also
supported by DepEd Memorandum Order No. 99, s. 2015 embracing with the theme: “My Teacher My
Hero.”

Teachers as the name suggest as the kingdom of Knowledge from which the knowledge transfer
to their students. In everyone’s life teachers play a very important role to build up their Future. Teachers
are also known as Guru from the ancient time in the Indian society as they teach us the knowledge and
everything that makes us tough by their preaching to face every situation of our life by improving our
skills, knowledge and shape us in the with the correct structure. In honor of our Teacher’s, we celebrate
the Teacher’s day this year with a theme: “Gurong Pilipino: Turo mo, Kinabukasan ko” and through
this celebration, we will able to show them our respect and love for them.
II- GOALS AND OBJECTIVE:

b. Acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service and dedicated
commitment of teachers in developing globally minded citizens, nurturing families,
strengthening communities, and building the nation;

c. Revitalize the image and respect for teaching as vocation by increasing public awareness
on the value of teachers in the Philippine society;

d. Take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and
fulfilling profession;

e. Generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and

f. Express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.

III- CELEBRATION ACTIVITIES:

Teacher’s Day is celebrated with much fervor in our district where it is celebrated as festival as it is
celebrated like a cultural Festival with every student and faculty, actively participating in the events. It
is a lay back day for the teachers as they are excused from following the daily routine. Many events are
organized by the students in honor of their beloved teachers. Pupils perform drama, stage plays,
displaying the importance of a teacher in society and give speeches on the contribution of great
renowned teachers as well as their own teachers. The idea basically is to convey the message that
every teacher is important.

Pupils also get dressed as their favorite teacher’s and organize mock classes attended by their
real teachers. Pupils take care to be at their best behavior while trying to imitate their teachers. It is a
fun activity aimed at sparking little humor into the participants.

Honoring teachers and giving gifts to them as a symbol of obligation towards their service, has
become a tradition and an integral part of teacher’s Day celebration in our municipality which usually
done hand in hand with external stakeholders in the community that include the PTA officials and
Barangay officials and not to forget to mention as well are the loving parents who untiringly supported
the school on their own little way.

IV- PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES:

According to Ralph Nader, “A leader has the vision and conviction that a dream can be achieved.
He inspires the power and energy to get it done.”

“Leaders are like eagles, they don’t fly with the flock: they explore new heights and challenge
themselves and others to soar beyond the norm.”

And Newton Baker said and I quote, “A schoolmaster should have an atmosphere of awe, and walk
wonderingly, as if he was amazed at being himself.”
All these words of wisdom are the total description of the unique celebration that was spearheaded
by the Schools District Supervisor of Guipos Municipality, Dr. Tessie Arocha Templado, whom initiated
the first ever School Heads’ Teachers’ Day Celebration that was attended not only by the Elementary
School Heads but for the first time ever was attended by the Secondary School Heads of this district.
Smiles evidently seen on each faces who attended the said event as clearly seen in the photos
shown below.
With all the willing hearts and endeavor of the pupils to realize its purpose, they uttered and
demonstrated their praise and thanks giving to their beloved teachers who are tireless in imparting knowledge
and directing their path in their daily lives through gift giving and simple hugs and kisses that were all precious
to the eyes of the teachers.
