What is egornomic?

 Ergonomics is the process of designing or arranging workplaces, products and

systems so that they fit the people who use them.

 Ergonomics aims to improve workspaces and environments to minimise risk of

injury or harm. So as technologies change, so too does the need to ensure that
the tools we access for work, rest and play are designed for our body’s
requirements.

Risks of poor ergonomics

 Poor ergonomics is not the same as poor design. With design, ergonomics is just
one factor out of many jostling for attention. Ergonomics must be balanced with
other factors such as aesthetics (how a product looks), the market (what people
want to buy), and budget, which can determine the quality of the materials and
components used to build it.

 Poor ergonomics describes a lack of unity between environment, task and

equipment. An upright dining chair, for example, may not be considered
ergonomic, but in the right environment, such as a rarely-used dining room, it fulfils
its role perfectly. In an office environment in which people need to be seated for
extended periods of time, the same type of chair could cause problems with its
lack of lumbar support and the ridgid, static angle.
What is limb disorders?

 Are aches, pains, tension and disorders involving any part of the arm from fingers to
shoulder, or the neck;

 Include problems with the soft tissues, muscles, tendons and ligaments, along with
the circulatory and nerve supply to the limb; and

 Are often caused or made worse by work

What is CTD?

A cumulative trauma disorder, also known as CTD, is defined as the excessive wear
and tear on tendons, muscles and sensitive nerve tissue caused by continuous use over
an extended period of time. CTDs can develop from improper work positioning,
repetition or force.

The three main risk factors found in computer workstation environments that can lead to
CTDs are:

 Awkward posture and position such as bent wrists, elbows held away from the
body, outstretched arms or slumped shoulders
 Repetitive action from typing, keying and sorting operations
 Use of excessive force when typing
What is ESD?

 Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is the sudden flow of electricity between two

electrically charged objects caused by contact, an electrical short, or dielectric
breakdown. A buildup of static electricity can be caused by tribocharging or
by electrostatic induction. The ESD occurs when differently-charged objects are
brought close together or when the dielectric between them breaks down, often
creating a visible spark.

 ESD can create spectacular electric sparks (lightning, with the accompanying
sound of thunder, is a large-scale ESD event), but also less dramatic forms
which may be neither seen nor heard, yet still be large enough to cause damage
to sensitive electronic devices. Electric sparks require a field strength above
approximately 40 kV/cm in air, as notably occurs in lightning strikes. Other forms
of ESD include corona discharge from sharp electrodes and brush
discharge from blunt electrodes.

 ESD can cause harmful effects of importance in industry, including explosions in

gas, fuel vapor and coal dust, as well as failure of solid
state electronics components such as integrated circuits. These can suffer
permanent damage when subjected to high voltages. Electronics manufacturers
therefore establish electrostatic protective areas free of static, using measures to
prevent charging, such as avoiding highly charging materials and measures to
remove static such as grounding human workers, providing antistatic devices,
and controlling humidity.
How does ESD occur?

ESD can occur in a variety of forms. One of the most common is through human contact
with sensitive devices. Human touch is only sensitive on ESD levels that exceed
4,000V.

A recent investigation found the human body and its clothing capable of storing between
500V and 2,500V electrostatic during the normal workday. This is far above the level
that damages circuits yet below the human perception threshold. Other sources of ESD
damage to equipment include:

• Troubleshooting electronic equipment or handling of printed circuit boards without

using an electrostatic wrist strap;

• Placement of synthetic materials (i.e. plastic, Styrofoam, etc.) on or near electronic

equipment; and

• Rapid movement of air near electronic equipment (including using compressed air to
blow dirt off printed circuit boards, circulating fans blowing on electronic equipment, or
using an electronic device close to an air handling system).

In all of these scenarios, the accumulation of static charges may occur, but you may
never know. Furthermore, a charged object does not necessarily have to contact the
item for an ESD event to occur.
Safety Electrical (SOP)Production Assembling Computer Component.

• Prepare all the hardware to be installed and make sure it is in good condition
• Install the Power Supply on the chasing and install the Power Supply screw correctly
• Install all the hardware located on the motherboard before it is inserted into the
chasing
o Install the processor on its socket and give it thermal over it
o Install Heatsink
o Place RAM on its slot and lock it properly
• Once the components on the motherboard are inserted, insert the motherboard on the
chasing, screw the motherboard screw correctly
• Install NIC, Wireless NIC and VGA on each slot and plug screws on each component
• Insert the Hard Drive on the chasing and attach the screw hard disk
• Insert the CDROM on the chasing and screw it to the CDROM
• Insert Floppydisk on chasing and install screw floppydisk
• After all the above components are properly inserted, attach all internal cables to the
correct components
• Plug the power cord from the power supply to each place, and make sure the cable is
not plugged in the wrong place.
• Connect the data cable from the hardware to the motherboard
• After all components are properly inserted, attach the chasing cap and screw
• Lastly, Install all external cables such as mouse, keyboard, monitor, USB, Ethernet
and parallel cable
• If all of the above procedures have been performed, do a test if the computer can run
properly.
