Better farming, better lives, better cocoa
Cocoa farmers face numerous challenges, such as
ageing oF diseased trees, depleted soll, poor
agriculturalpractices, child labour and deforestation.

aims to improve the lives of farmers and their

Toimprove farmers’ productivity and product quality
and, consequently, their incomes ~ wo provide training
inbetter agricultural practices, distbute higher-yelding
cocoa trees, promote gender equality, address child
labour and develop long-term relationships with farmer
‘groups. As the programme becomes established, we are
{evolving training methads to include coaching, business
training and a differentiated approach forthe best farmers.
‘We also work with partners such as the World Cocoa
Foundation's Coceaition, an industry-wide strategy
for cocoa sustainably.
