STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am going to take petroleum engineering as my major in a master degree in your

university. Through this statement of purpose, I intend to put forth my personal and educational
background, goals and the reason for choosing your esteemed university and research interest.
I was born Iin Indonesia, a country which has over 250 million of peoples. Growth in
GDP following the continuing energy demand. Oil and Gas Industry is one of the vital energy
needed in Indonesia and one of sector give additional for country income. I have a special
interest in oil and gas industry since I was twelve years old. I was curious about how oil is
produced. I am also very passionate to learn about rocks and fossil since I was in junior high
school. Then, I took geology as my major in bachelor degree. During studying in Departement of
Geology, I took petroleum geology as my specialization. I took several classes such as
sedimentology and stratigraphy, etc. I got very good academic records while I was studying in
Departement of Geology. So thatFurthermore, I had appointed to be assistant in several
laboratories, such as Petrology while pursuing my bachelor degree. In the mid of 2014, I was
once do took an internship programme about petrophysics specialization in Chevron Pasific
Indonesia which is located in Duri field, Sumatra. Before graduated, Ii wrote a these with the title
“ “. I gathered and anlyzeanalyzed data in VICO Indonesia, one of oil
and gas company which has a contract in Sanga-Sanga field.

After graduated, I work in one of biggest oil company in Indonesia as a reservoir

geologist in exploitation department. The Indonesian energy demand is growing steadily then it
still dependent on oil with a greater portion on gas and coal. While supply is depleting,
Indonesia currently a net importer of oil while stabilisingstabilizing as a net exporter of gas and
coal. My responsibilities are to find a new potential in a mature fields, modeling, and calculate a
reserve. When I was working in the company, Saya jadi mengetahui bahwa setelah
menemukan reserve, tindakan selanjutnya yang terpenting juga adalah menjaga produksi
supaya tidak menurun (depleted) …ini kaya titik balik kenapa harus ambil PE…. Then, I find
have found that I need to extend my knowledge in oil and gas industry . I am going to take
petroleum engineering as my major in a master degree so that I can extend my knowledege. I
have a plan in my master to take specialist am very passionate to learn further especially in
reservoir and production engineering.
