ROUTINE: (2 minutes)
I will greet students, I will say: ‘hello! How are you?’ and I will write the date on the board.
Purpose: to greet my students and create a good atmosphere

WARM UP: (5 minutes)

PRESENTATION: (15 minutes)


Activity 1: ( 10 minutes)I will bring an extra copy to revise the use of have to/don’t have to.
Students have to work in pairs; they will ask each other some questions.

Purpose: to recycle grammar and to encourage students participate in the classroom

Once they have completed the chart, I will give them some minutes in order to make
sentences, for example: “she has to tidy the room”, “he doesn’t have to feed the dog”

I will explain students how to make the sentences, moreover I will write on the board a
positive and a negative sentence in order to help them when doing the activity.

Activity 2: (5 minutes)

Activity 1: ( 5 minutes)

Purpose: to practise grammar items.

I will say that now we are going to listen and complete ex 2 (page 84). I will say that we
are going to use have to if there is a tick or don’t have to if there is a cross

We work together. Students might find difficulties when completing sentences with 3rd
person singular, so we work together in order to clarify doubts.

Activity 2: ( 10 minutes)
Purpose: to check understanding of grammar.

We will work on the following exercise:

Page 85 ex 5

I will give students some minutes in order to complete the activity, I will say that they have

Activity 3: (15 minutes)

Purpose: to develop students’ communicative skills

I will give the students 1 picture each one. Students will have to complete the sentences
using mustn’t or must. Then, they say their sentences aloud.

Ex 4: they have to complete the sentences with the correct form of have to (positive and
negative). I will remind students the use of the 3rd person.

Ex 5: look at the table. Write questions and answers using have to. Together we will do one
exercise in order to help them when working alone.
