Sign On
Each Galileo user must have a security profile record. Amongst other things, this
record governs the level of access the user has to the system, and an address
code stating what terminal access is permitted.

Only a Galileo coordinator with a second level sign can add, modify or delete an
agent sign on.

To create a sign on

Please, only use the TAB facility or the Cursor to move from field to field.
Do not work with the Carriage Return, Delete key or the Backspace key.
Check that the “insert” mode is deactivated.

The input to create a new sign on is:

Agency File
The Agency File enables you to store different information in the system. The
information stored in Galileo can easily be transferred into a Booking File when
booking a client’s reservation.

An Agency File has been initialised by Galileo for your travel agency. It contains the
agency name and pseudo city code.

Once initialised, it is possible to modify or complete it with further information to be

transferred in a Booking File.

To display the Agency File

Maximum 128 lines are available to store information in the agency file

Maximum 58 characters per line after the “/” (122 for address field) are possible

Each line must be numbered and followed by a transfer code:

Y = The lines having a “Y” will always move into a Booking File

O = The lines having an “O” will only move into a Booking File when requested
in the input (optional move)

Programmable Keys
Programmable Keys (Pkeys) are a means of assigning a number of keystrokes,
such as host commands, to one keystroke. You can pre-program your commonly
used entries so that each one is placed on the screen at the touch of a Pkey,
saving both time and the need to remember the input.

To open Pkeys

Select Programmable Keys from the Companion menu

The Pkeys window shows the type of operation that can be programmed:

Command: These are Pkeys that send a string input to the host system
Hotkey: These are Pkeys that have been programmed to launch an application
Script: These are Pkeys that run a designated script.

Available Pkeys

The following function keys can be defined as Programmable Keys:

• F2 to F12
• Shift + F1 to Shift + F12
• Ctrl + F1 to Ctrl + F5 and Ctrl + F7 to Ctrl + F12
• BF1 to BF12

Page 27
Galileo Coordinator Quick Reference

To create a set of Command Pkeys

Command Pkeys are used to assign host inputs with a function key. When
assigning a string input to a function key, you can also designate spaces where
dates and locations need to be added by the user of the function key.

Highlight the function key to be programmed

Type the host command to be executed in the “Command” field

To add an automatic “ENTER”, open the list of predefined commands using

the Find button and select <Transmit>

Page 28
Type the key description if needed in the “Description” field (may be left
blank)

Select “Apply” to create the Pkey

To programme Pkeys with multiple host commands

Link the different host command with <+> that you select from the predefined
commands list

Page 29
Galileo Coordinator Quick Reference

To add a space in the command for variables, (dates, cities, references...)

Insert a <Tabstop> from the predefined command list followed by the number of
spaces required.

Area to partition mapping

In Galileo you have the possibility to create simultaneously different booking files in
different windows if you create a set of programmable keys which will allow you to
switch from one window to another and change the work area at the same time.

For this function we suggest you to use the keys SF1 to SF4 (shift F1 to shift F4)

Once programmed, if you type <shift F1> the window 1 will become active and you
will automatically switch to area A.
If you type <shift F2> the window 2 will become active and you will automatically
switch to area B.
If you type <shift F3> the window 3 will become active and you will automatically
switch to area C.
If you type <shift F4> the window 4 will become active and you will automatically
switch to area D.

Note:

• If you change the window by clicking on it, the area won’t be changed.
• Remember to use Pkeys when switching from one window to another one.

Hot Keys allow you to assign a Companion or another application to a Pkey.

Highlight the function key to be programmed

 Select Hot Key

Select the appropriate application from the list displayed with the Find button

Type the key description if needed (may be left blank).

Before leaving the Programmable Keys with “OK”, you need to save your
programmed Pkeys. (see page 34)

Page 33

To save a set of Command Pkeys

In the menu select “File” and “Save”

If you have never used programmable keys on your Focalpoint before, the
system will ask you for a Pkeys definition file name. Insert a name for your
set of Pkeys in the field “File name”

 Select “Save”

Select “OK” to leave the Programmable Keys function
