the heart of every Muslim kids,
youth and elders.

 INTRODUCTION

Every year in the 20th of the Islamic

month of SAFAR; a heart breaking
occasion repeat itself among Muslims
around the world in the annual memory
of the martyrdom and sacrifice of Imam
Husain (PBUH), this day is known by the
name of (ALARBA’EEN) the fortieth day
after death.

Muslims all over the world had

presented their sorrow in many ways
based on their traditions they expressing
their distress, grief and pain for the
greatest tragedy in history of mankind
happened on the 10th of the Islamic
month of MUHARRAM; the life example
of sacrifice, brotherhood and loyalty
Imam Husain (PBUH) has been
presented to the world.

Imam Husain (PBUH) is sacrificed his
family members, followers and himself
for the sake of Islam; for the sake of
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) religion to
stay alive and prove to everyone that
Islam deserves in all types of sacrifices
no matter what happens so far.

 HISTORICAL SHORT REVIEWS

After the tragedy of Karbala on the 10th

of Islamic month MUHARRAM, Yazeed's
soldiers had burnt all the camps and
captured Imam Husain (PBUH) but kept
his family members including his son
Imam Ali Bin Husain (PBUH), his sister
Alaqeela Zainab (PBUH), his daughters
Sakina and Ruqaya, his wife Alrabab
and some wives and children of his
martyr followers peace be upon them
all,

Imam Husain's (PBUH) family and

followers were tortured, mistreated and
abused of cruelty ways, they had
forced taken away around the regions
in an inhuman act, they were
announced that they are outlaws,
beside taking way around holding the

cut heads of martyrs on high spears with
Imam Husain (PBUH) head in front of the
caravan. Yazeed's soldiers along with
Shamer who beheaded Imam Husain
(PBUH) head himself used all kind
brutality and barbaric ways with Imam
Husain's (PBUH) family.

The caravan approaches into

Obaidallah Bin Ziyad's palace in Kufa
then the soldiers continued their tour to
Yazeed's Palace; upon the convey
have arrived Yazeed tried to convince
the public in Damascus that he has
made suitable act, but Imam Ali Bin
Husain (PBUH) and Alaqeela Zainab
(PBUH) talked and revealed the reality
of Yazeed; Yazeed tried his best to
avoid the scandal he committed but he
couldn’t, so he released them to save
himself from people's anger.

The holy convey returns back to Karbala
to visit the Holy Shrine of Imam Husain
(PBUH) after the misfortunate journey of
captivity, brutality and depression
around the regions they have been
passed .1

The first visit to the holy shrine was by

Jabir Ibn Abdullah Alansari, who prayed
after cleansing..2

Who challenged the fear barrier of Bani

Omayyah power which encouraged
the people to begin visiting Imam
Husain (PBUH) shrine after that.

 SECRETS OF THE NUMBER (40th )

Holy Quran:

▪ Moses appointment:

1- Al-Baqarah 51: "And [recall] when We

made an appointment with Moses for
forty nights. Then you took [for
worship] the calf after him, while you
were wrongdoers."

2- Al-A'raf 142: "And we made an

appointment with Moses for thirty
nights and perfected them by [the
addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord
was completed as forty nights. And
Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take
my place among my people, do right
[by them], and do not follow the way
of the corrupters."

 3- Al-Ahqaf 15: “And we have enjoined
upon man, to his parents, good
treatment. His mother carried him with
hardship and gave birth to him with
hardship, and his gestation and
weaning [period] is thirty months. [He
grows] until, when he reaches
maturity and reaches [the age of]
forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable
me to be grateful for Your favor which
You have bestowed upon me and
upon my parents and to work
righteousness of which You will
approve and make righteous for me
my offspring. Indeed, I have repented
to you, and indeed, I am of the
Muslims."

▪ Retribution

 4- Al-Maaeda 25: [Allah] said, "Then
indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty
years [in which] they will wander
throughout the land. So do not grieve
over the defiantly disobedient
people."

The number 40 is no ceable also in Voluntary

worships like:
1- Midnight pray contains praying to
forty believers that all best know
2- Some prays have to be performed on
daily bases for forty days.

So, this specific number is mentioned at

many religious phrases even if we
ignored the significance of itself in
variety of subjects.

ALARBA’EEN holiness in relevance
with this number

Many religions in the world who worship

seasons, astrological phenomenon and
Julianic times derive the holiness from its
pagan ideology who believes in
eternality;

But, In Islamic ideology we believe that

the holiness of this occasion has derived
from the holiness of Imam Hussain
(PBUH) and his immaculacy which gave
birth to this occasion, because he
sacrificed everything including himself
and engraved his name in the history of
mankind to become a unique principle
to every persecuted individual to face
any tyrant in the world at any time..

The main principle which derives from
the holiness of Imam Hussain (PBUH) in
ALARBAEEN occasion is by believing
and understanding the ideology of
sacrifice to achieve God's satisfaction
with total surrender to his almighty Allah.

 saying from AHLULBAIT regarding
ALARBAEEN

1-Imam Jaffer Al Sadiq (PBUH) said:

“Any person performs his prayer at
Imam Hussain's (PBUH) shrine, God will
redeem him from hell, save him on the
dooms day and give him anything he
needs”...3

2- Asim Bin Hameed Al Hannat asked Imam

Sadiq (PBUH):
What will I rewarded if I visited Imam
Hussain's (PBUH) shrine?

Imam Jaffer Al Sadiq (PBUH) said:

Anyone who visits Imam Hussain's (PBUH)
shrine almighty God would promised to:
1- Relief all his sorrows and worries.

2- Protect against poverty and
deprivation.
3- Cure from disabilities, retardations
and sickness.
4- Accept prayers and fulfill needs.

Whenever you are able to visit Imam

Husain(PBUH), don’t miss it, because
God will replace your bad deeds
(SAYYE’AAT) to good ones (HASANAT)
and every step you take toward the
journey to visit the shrine, you will be
rewarded ten times for each HASANAH
and ten SAYE’AH will be removed from
your deeds registrar ,

“Almight Allah will reward every Imam

Husain (PBUH) visitor the level of a martyr
covered in his blood deceased fighting
for Islam”…4

5- Mohammed Bin Muslim said: Imam Sadiq
(PBUH) told us:
“Whoever visits Imam Hussain's (PBUH)
shrine will be rewarded one thousand
Hajjah and one thousand Omra and
God will forgive all his bad deeds”...5

6- Imam Sadiq (PBUH) said:

“Whoever walks toward the Holy shrine
of Imam Hussain's (PBUH) will be
rewarded the blessings of the deed of
releasing and freeing Ishmael son from
slavery for every step of taken”...6

There are a lot of sayings quotes and

speeches in the enormous blessings for
visiting Imam Husain (PBUH) shrine in
Karbala. As a result, millions of people
from around the world of different
traditions and cultures will sacrifice

anything just to be in Karbala on the
day of ALARBA’EEN.

In the past few decades, the revolution

of media eased a lot in spreading the
great lessons of Imam Husain (PBUH) in
Karbala which it had a great deal of
impact on different religion followers
too.
