Opinion of prospective teachers

Abstract:
In this modern era, Technology has universal importance. This is the era of technology.
Everyone use different technologies in daily routine like computer, mobile, internet etc. for
information exchange Technology education is a field of study which covers the human abilities
to fulfill the needs by the use of skills with technique. Therefore in learning process technology
has great importance in today classroom. Teachers use different technologies during teaching to
make learning effective. The process of simply conveying the essential information to all
students has placed enormous demands on teachers’ even more limited instructional time This
study explore teacher success in technology integration in classroom instructions. The purpose of
this study was to measure the effectiveness of teachers in implementation of technology in the
classroom. It was a survey study. A survey based on quantitative data was distributed to
prospective teacher of technology education. A 5-point Likert scale was used for data analysis.
Data was collected by evaluating teacher’s knowledge about technology usage, attitude towards
technology, by enlisting different types of technology that teacher used in classroom, by
measuring student’s attitude towards technology. It is the skill and attitude of the teacher that
determines the effectiveness of technology integration into the curriculum. Prospective teachers
who responded to this questionnaire indicated barriers like time, support, access, professional
development and teacher’s beliefs, they faced during technology integration in the classroom.
Teachers need and requirements for successful integration was identified. The significant
findings of this study indicated teachers are not using technology in the classroom effectively.
Reasons are lack of knowledge, skills, direct access, barriers and technology pedagogy. Different
ways to enhance the effective use of technology in the classroom was discussed.
