The Rushey Mead Academy Council is made up of volunteers (known as ‘academy councillors) who commit their time to work alongside the leadership
team of the academy to play an important part in raising academy standards.
The Academy Council has a strong focus on three core strategic functions:
The Rushey Mead Academy Council meets regularly to meet these functions and other responsibilities. The academy councillors also visit the academy to
ensure they understand what is happening and to monitor and evaluate the impact of actions.
For the 2018/19 academic year, the Rushey Mead Academy Council will function as a joint Academy Council with Castle Mead Academy (CMA), the new
free school opening in September 2019. The joint Academy Council includes the CMA Principal Designate and a Co-Chair amongst its membership, who will
focus on CMA. A separate academy council for CMA will be set up during this time ready to take on CMA governance once it has opened.
Contact: The Chair(s) of the Academy Council can be contacted via the academy.
