WORLD TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

I.RATIONALE:

In order to give honor to all the teachers throughout the world to

acknowledge their crucial role, loyal service and dedicated commitment in
developing globally minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening
communities and building the nation, presidential proclamation no. 242 was
promulgated, declaring the period from September 05 to October 05 as
“National Teachers Month’’ which was signed on August 24, 2011 by His
Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III. This proclamation was also
supported by DepEd Memorandum Order No. 99, s. 2015 embracing with the
theme: “My Teacher My Hero.”

II. GOALS AND OBJECTIVE:

a. To honor those who are in the teaching profession;

b. Acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service
and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally
minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening communities,
and building the nation;
c. Revitalize the image and respect for teaching as vocation by
increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the
Philippine society;
d. Take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of
teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession;
e. Generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and
f. Express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino
learners.

III. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

a. September 05, 2015 – the kick off activities started right after the
flag raising ceremony and immediately followed by an urgent
conference with the teachers including the SPG officers to plan with
the activities for the month long National Teachers Month
Celebration;
b. The teachers and school head assigned SPG officers to be the Officer
of the day during the flag raising ceremony to recite the prayer for
teachers as given by the depED which was attached in the memo
from September 05 to October 05 culmination program;
 c. The school head coordinated the Barangay LGU during the
Barangay Regular Session to advocate and orient them of their
respective roles and responsibilities regarding with the series of
activities including the synchronized teachers day celebration;
d. Attended school heads meeting in the district to plan for the district
wide celebrations;
e. September 23, 2015 call for GPTA General Assembly for all the
parents to inform and orient them on the special celebration;
f. September 24, 2015 was the district wide teachers day celebration
at Mardale Hotel which was graced by the Schools Division
Superintendent Dr. Arturo B .Bayocot, CESO V and other
Promotional Staff of the Division Office.
g. October 02, the school joined with the synchronized Teachers Day
Celebration through an opening program which was attended by
some of the PTA Officials, Barangay Officials and other
stakeholders;
h. Awarding of the certificate of Recognition by the LGU to the
deserving teachers was the highlight of the celebration;
i. The barangay officials prepared heavy snacks for the teachers as
suggested during the school head visit to the LGU;
j. After the opening program, SPG officers took over the classroom
instruction while the teachers were given break to relax and enjoy
the time for the whole duration of the day as honorees.
k. Accomplishment report has been prepared as compliance for the
mandate of the division office.

IV. PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED:

a. Some of the Barangay Officials were not supportive to the

celebration;
b. There was lack of financial resources to be utilized for the said
purpose;
c. There was a conflict of schedule to other activities.

V. RECOMMENDATION:

Next time, memo should be given ahead of time so that teachers have
enough time to plan and implement the suggested activities.
