BA (HONS) ACCOUNTING
PROGRAMME
This course is designed specifically for people who
are interested in working in an accounting function
in business, commerce, or finance, or entering
into the accounting profession. During the course
you become skilled at Financial Accounting,
Management Accounting, Taxation and Auditing;
and are able to undertake projects investigating
the contemporary problems of Accounting. The
degree seeks to ensure maximum exemptions from
the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
(ACCA) and Chartered Institute of Management
Accountant (CIMA) professional syllabus. The
degree together with ACCA qualification will give
you the greatest flexibility in choosing your career,
whether it is auditing, taxation, management
accounting, financial reporting or management
consulting that interests you.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The Business School has achieved great success.
Business courses have been ranked 21st in the
UK according to the National Student Survey
(NSS) 2008, and the Business School has been
awarded a grade 4 – the highest score for
any University in UK – in Tourism and Leisure
in the latest Research Assessment Exercise.
Additionally, the Business School has also been
awarded a 3a – the highest score for any of
the New Universities bar one – in Business and
Management.
