 Field Trip Report
On Tuesday 2nd October 2018, our group consists of 5 person named Aqil, Badril, Hafiz, Fidhzaini
and Amira tasked with writing an informational report. This reports discussed the observation of
the chosen place and exclusive interview with the Tunku Tun Aminah Library users.
Purpose of field trip
The objective of the field trip was to observe the library’s floor and describe it in an informational
report. The reason we chose B Level in library because of the new main attraction of the library,
which is Executive Café. Based on our findings, the café was opened around August when most
students were back at home. To understand better, we interviewed the customers. ‘It’s interesting
to see a refreshing look to the café, but the price of food is quite high,’ said Miss Aina. ‘Since we
were hungry and were using public transport, this is the place to go,’ continued her.
Other attraction was the recently launched Speakers’ Corner where students can speak up for
themselves or others at a specified location. The Speakers’ Corner were located near the Executive
Café which should attract many students to be bold and daring. During our visit, there were barely
any people even though it is near the café.
The centre of the library spots a beautiful scenery as the lush greeneries covers the ground. It is
located near the café and Speakers’ Corner. There were 2 person recording a video there during
our visit and we interviewed them. ‘The scenery is beautiful and suitable for the video,’ said
Mansur. Many years ago, the centre of the library also spots another attraction which were
colourful umbrellas hanging around as arts. The umbrellas were taken down after quite some time
due to unknown reason.
The facilities on B Level were lecture halls, seminar rooms, tutorial rooms, 24-hour reading rooms,
multimedia laboratory, computer room, café and specialised library for aeronautic programs. There
were 4 lecture halls, 10 tutorial rooms and 2 seminar rooms specifically.
Conclusion
As conclusion, we have found that the B level in the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia library
has a very calming environment and very suitable for people to come during their leisure time.
Besides that, this place also can be used for studying in groups and getting things done. As for the
new café in the UTHM library, they have chosen a strategic place for getting customers but the
price is quite expensive.
