Thousands of Hoosiers have hit hard
times and cannot afford dental care. Oral
Health literacy is at an all time low. In 2013,
a concerned group of dentists and others

recognized this problem and acted to address
the oral health needs in Indiana, by starting
the Indiana Mission of Mercy (MoM). The
goal: to improve the oral health of children
and adults in Indiana. IndianaMoM increases
1878
awareness to the public, policy makers and
legislators about the importance of regular
dental care for overall health. IndianaMOM
promotes and advocates for long-term
solutions that provide quality dental care for
all Hoosiers.

Seminar
Three Ways to Participate
Volunteer
It takes hundreds of volunteers to pull
off treating approximately 2,000 patients
in a couple of days. There’s a need for
dentists, hygienists, assistants, lab staff and
general volunteers. There are many different
places to serve from direct dental care, to
moving patients and supplies from one
area to another. Everybody who volunteers
comes with a heart to serve and help. To
participate, take off May 17 and 18, 2019
and sign up at www.indianamom.org.
Donate
Indiana MoM may be free dental care
for patients, but there is a cost for putting
on such a large event. It costs approximately
$200,000 for facilities, equipment, supplies,
instruments, computers, follow up care,
etc., to put on a successful event. We seek
major gifts as well as $10 donations. Many
volunteers also contribute financially to the
event, but people who cannot volunteer in
person can still be part of this good work by
financially contributing. To donate to the
