La vi por vez primera

temblando de ansiedad
ay de mí, ay de mí, ay de mí.

Quise huir mas no pude

tenía herido el corazón
ay de mí, ay de mí, ay de mí.

Al cielo pido, al cielo clamo

¿por qué delito padezco yo?
El cielo justo responde y dice
sí es tu delito padécelo (bis).

Palomitay, maipi kanki

qayraiku sunquy waqan
jampuway jampuway jampuway.

Suyasuspa
wañuy niña
Inti k’anchamuq tinri
jampuway jampuway….jampuway

Al cielo pido, al cielo clamo

¿por qué delito padezco yo?
El cielo justo responde y dice
sí es tu delito padécelo (bis).
Quechua song in huayno version "palomitay (la vi vi por vez primera) -"my sweetheart, I saw her
for the first time ever" . Reinterpreted by Bolivian folk singer Zulma Yugar*.

It is worth noting that the original version was sung by "Proyeccion Kjarkas " folk band back in
1981.

NOTES

*Thumps up for Zulma Yugar's Quechua fluency. The Quechua part of the song involves having a
high level of Poetry -based Quechua understanding.
** 16. Inti k’anchamuq tinri -it is abstract in meaning. I looked into reference 2 ( Anchorena
,J.D.,1874) which records a comprehensive Quechua Grammar.Based upon reference 2, "Inti
k’anchamuq tinri", may mean:
OPTION 1: Up until the sun shined down
OPTION 2: Right up till the Eternal Sunshine

I believe Option 2 fits into the song context.

I ll update any clarification as to this abstract poetic sentence.
