5.4 Data Structure

The organizational structure in the PROCESS will be defined in two different areas in the system:
— SAP ERP (Company Code, Plant, Storage locations)
— Organizational units in Meat Management

5.4.1 Organizational Structure SAP

locations

The Organizational Structure is the base in SAP to setup any processes, which will be modeled or executed. It
defines the company’s organizational and physical entities. The objects for the PROCESS process are
mentioned here.

5.4.1.1.1 Company Code

Smallest organizational unit of external accounting for which a complete, self-contained set of accounts can
be created. This includes the entry of all transactions that must be posted and the creation of all items for
legal individual financial statements, such as the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement.
The definition of the company code organizational unit is obligatory, following company code is defined for
PROCESS:

Company Code Description

SAP CODE Text

5.4.1.1.2 Plant
It is an organizational unit serving to subdivide an enterprise according to production, procurement,
maintenance, and materials planning aspects. It is a place where either material are produced or goods and
services provided.

Plant Code Description Company Code Assignment

SAP CODE TEXT SAP CODE

5.4.1.1.3 Storage Locations

The setup of storage locations is necessary to differentiate between various types of stock in a plant. In the
assembly process the storage locations will be setup to manage following material types.

St.loc.nr.(SAP) Storage location name Material Inventory managed

5.4.1.2 Other Organizational Units (Optional)

5.4.2 Master Data

The following master data is required to cover the process in SAP ERP and Meat Management:

— Material master data for all components (EXAMPLE of raw materials)

— Material master data for the materials to be produced (example of semi finished or finished materials)
— Bills of material (with components) must be available for the defined processes
— Work centers/routings must be available to calculate wages.

Business Blueprint – Arasco Food 12/17

Think ahead. Go there.

5.4.2.1 Material Master Data

The material master record contains all information about the materials, which CUSTOMER procures,
manufactures, stores and ships. As soon as there is a change in the condition of a material, it will be setup as
a new material number.

wrapped

•10001 •10002 •10003

The master data are split up into two areas:

— General data: Basic data of the material like f.e. description, units of measure…
— Plant dependent data: plant specific data like storage location, lead times

5.4.2.1.1 Material Types

The following existing material types will be used in the process:

Material Type Description

5.4.2.1.2 Extension of Material Master Record Views

Extension of the material master record view:
— MEAT - Assembly
— MEAT – Process Data
— MEAT – Slaughter Data

In these views further information will be maintained:

— Double unit of measure
— Daily batch material
— Breed group

5.4.2.1.3 Definition of Unit of Measure

At the PROCESS plant all materials will be setup with the base unit of measure “Piece”. A double unit of
measure (e.g. BOX for boxes) need to be discussed.

Business Blueprint – Arasco Food 13/17

Think ahead. Go there.

5.4.2.1.4 In-House Production Time

Specifies the time in workdays needed to produce the material in-house. In-house production time is
independent of the order quantity. The production time will be calculated in days.

This information is the trigger to create the production orders with the correct dates:
— Basic start date
— Basic finish date

For the different PROCESS processes, the production time will be entered in the material master data as
followed:

Process Material Estimated time Master data - time

5.4.2.2 Master Data Object – Bill of Materials

A bill of materials (BOM) is a list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-
components, parts and the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product. The bill of material is
plant dependent; the same produced material can be setup with different bill of materials in the different
plants.

For each process after disassembling a bill of material will be created to cover the process.

Example of BOM referring to process (screenshot English)

With reference to following production quantity (base quantity of the material:

Management by Softproviding:

5.4.2.3 Work Center

Together with bills of material and routings, work centers belong to the most important master data in the
production planning and control system. Work centers are used in task list operations (routings).
Data in work centers is used for
— Scheduling (Operating times and formulas are entered in the work center, so that the duration of an
operation can be calculated)
— Costing (Formulas are entered in the work center, so that the costs of an operation can be calculated. A
work center is also assigned to a cost center.
— Capacity planning (The available capacity and formulas for calculating capacity requirements are
entered in the work center).

For each process or work area a work center needs to be defined and linked to the materials, which are
produced in this area. Additional information about costing will be given in referring chapter “9 - Controlling”.

5.4.2.4 Routings
A routing is a description of which operations (process steps) have to be carried out and in which order to
produce a material (product). As well as information about the operations and the order in which they are
carried out, a routing also contains details about the work centers at which they are carried out as well as
about the required production resources and tools (includes jigs and fixtures). Standard values for the
execution of individual operations are also saved in routings.

Work Center Description Routing Description Activity

Additional information about costing will be given in referring chapter “9 - Controlling”.

5.4.3 Data Migration

Please describe data migration approach (if required)

To be defined about data migration.

No data migration possible from previous periods. The necessary master data will be setup manually without
involvement of LSMW or other master data migration tools

In total will be approx.

— 50 material master data
— 10 Bill of materials
— 1 – 3 workplaces
— >5 routings
