1. What is Electric Current? Why are Electrical Services important for Buildings?
2. What are the different types of Electric currents used in Building Industry? Transmission in
which type of current is preferred and why (List down advantages and disadvantages)?
3. How is Electricity Transmitted from the Generation point till the consumers main tapping
point? Explain with sketches, describe each step and name the system components utilized at
each step.
4. What is a substation? What are the main functions of substations? What are the different
types of substations, explain briefly about classification according to location of substation,
and advantages/disadvantages of one type over the other?
5. List down the functions and types of all the components of a substation. Explain briefly the
different types of transformers and DG sets.
