Re: Leghorn Avenue

Mayor Hayes,

Earlier today I was contacted by several residents regarding the utterly deplorable
condition of Leghorn Avenue. Portions of Leghorn (around 163) are nearly impassible at the
moment with muddy ruts approximately twelve inches deep. The rest of Leghorn, while
passable, is currently little more than a muddy trail. Additionally, a gas leak continues on the
road.

This project has been a complete mess from the beginning and these residents
continue to suffer as a result of the inability to get this road paved in a timely manner. As you
are the chief executive responsible for oversight of the engineering department and road
projects such as this I am asking you to provide the following information, portions of which
I requested at our last Council meeting, but you have not yet provided:

- A timeline of this project, including bid award dates, construction start and
stop dates, and significant events during that time;
- An accounting as to the costs of the project, what was initially anticipated,
and what is now expected;
- Identification of all contractors and subcontractors involved with the
project;
- Explanation of the oversight process of this project by the Township;
- Explanation as to why curbs are not being put on this road, and a summary
of our town’s policy towards curbs on roads;
- a copy of all correspondence sent to residents about this project; and
- a current status update on the project.

I am also formerly requesting that our Township Engineer appear at our next Council
meeting and answer questions regarding the history and status of this project so the Council
and public can have their questions addressed.

Thank you for providing this information and I look forward to discussing it at our
next meeting. .

Best regards,

s/Matthew C. Moench
