1. INRODUCTION IN THE MEDIA PSYCHOLOGY

From beginning, man expressed his interest in knowing himself and others. Man as a social
being relies on others and therefore he must understand the behavior of others and align
themselves with theirs. Only the name of psychology is inspired by the Greek philosopher
Aristotle, who has argued that psychology is the science of the minds (psychosis and logos /
science).

In the smallest sense, the subject of psychology education is psychic life. The psychological
processes and states we can judge on the basis of objective, external observation of the
behavior of people on the basis of direct, personal experience. In a sense, the subject of
psychology is a man, and this is an exploration of his behavior of consciousness, feeling and
experiencing. It tries to expose and formulate the laws of these phenomena, then explain their
emergence to act and change them if needed. So, psychology has the subject of its learning
something that is not material, and what to objectively state. The basic task of psychology is
to study the legitimacy of the psychic life of a man. By the influence of the media, no part of
us remains untouchable. Any understanding of social and cultural change is impossible
without the knowledge of the media. All media are expanding human faculties both physically
and psychologically. Media are important if not the primary place in human life without them
can. They became our daily companions and for them we have never been alone. Media
audience, ie media users are in continuity with emerging and With the development of the
media, they became increasingly demanding and curious. Manipulation in the field the work
of the media has developed so much that we are no longer aware of how to deal with us
manipulates because everything that happens is taken under "normal". The very influence of
mass media on the media audience is an inexhaustible topic that has been intrigued for many
years by analysts, statisticians, media professionals, communicologists and surely gives them
plenty of data for further research, recruiting, analyzing, evaluating and commenting, today
and in the future. Through this seminar work I decided to look at psychology and I want to
give my personal opinion and my attitude and somehow describe how I understand the
psychology of psychology and its contents with a special focus on the psychology of the
media because I think the media today have a very important role in the lives of all people,
starting from themselves.

2. INFLUENCES OF MASS MEDIA ON SOCIETY

Almost there is no area in social life where the media have no influence on economics,
politics, culture, sports and everyday habits such as enjoying a walk or a café with friends to
which the media indirectly influence, by forming public opinion on certain works or aspects
of human life. The influence of mass media increasingly takes on the outlines of one-way
communication where the explicit role of the media is to shape the public and prepare for the
upcoming events or to provide support for actions to be implemented in the coming period.
As already mentioned, the influence of media is extremely wide and can be viewed from
multiple angles. With regard to the formation of a false image in the public, there is a need to
re-examine the role of the media and their influence on acquiring new knowledge and further
progress of civilization. Mass media communication gains weight on a daily basis, and
information that is broadcast through mass media is usually taken as verified and accurate.
Information has an increasing importance in the global society, the timely and accurate
information is very high, so mass media can also be viewed as exclusive retailers or
distributors. When we talk about information, it should be noted that they do not necessarily
have to be verified or accurate, but when presented through mass media they gain strength
and credibility as if they were well-known facts.

Talking about the influence of the media, we can say freely that this is only important in
situations when it has a concrete result or effect. The impact of mass media can be seen
through the prism of censorship of a certain content, such as cigarette advertising, censorship
of violent films, and the like. An excellent example of mass media influence is the thriller
"Wars of the Worlds", which thanks to the media becomes very popular, but the more
important fact of popularity is that a large number of people believed in the existence of aliens
as a direct consequence of the influence of the media. From this we can show that mass media
can easily be used to manipulate and create a false image. The influence of the mass media on
the audience who thought the parties landed on the planet shows that the public can easily
convince them to believe in incredible things, followed by the fact that the same public even
believes that voting for a political option or a candidate promoted by the media. Fortunately,
in practice it was not a rule, so there was often a fall of media influence on the public, in such
situations the public voted the opposite. The influence of the print in the past was much more
significant than today, although today the press forms the public but is no longer a dominant
medium.

4
Television is the most influential medium that has a permanent influence on the public, as
opposed to a newspaper that professionally shapes the public, so that their influential spheres
overlap in that segment. Television has a greater influence on the press, and can draw its
power, while the press, focusing on the professional public, has an easier influence on the
elections or other public events of public interest. The fact is that media influence emotions,
perceptions and behaviors that go beyond the fact that they have a key impact on public
behavior. When we make a picture of a society as it is - with all its stylized, male-female and
racial hypocrisy, we are accused of having no idea what it is, but when we try to counter
stereotypes, they accuse us of selling imagination rather than reality.

A procedure such as retention of information, discovery of false information or public

disclosure makes the media affect all spheres of life. Television has a major influence on
public opinion, globally and nationally, it plays a very important role in creating the global,
political, social and public life of the group as well as every individual. Watching television
today is one of the most popular entertainment in the world. First, television is often used in
forms of direct address-addressed to viewers as if to talk to them.

5
3.THE IMAPACT OF MEDIA ON BEHAVIOUR OF PEOPLE

The media are mediators, transmit messages, give information and wait for criticism.
Do you ever imagine any activity without any media today? It is difficult because an
individual is society globally became media addicts. The level of addiction is so big and
strong, even absurd, so the question is: Why people like that function?

Marshall Mcluhan is known for saying "the media is a message". In his message there is a
need to focus attention on the media by itself and not on the content of the message. In the
statement "media is a message" means the total influence of the media. The influence of the
message appears in the modification of the math, the pace of the scheme that happens in man
under its influence. Under the conditions of emphasized orientation of the communicative
communicator to content and the need to adapt it to the taste of a "broad audience", and the
appearance of Marshall's theses meant a true diversity.

Media communications, and especially television, affect people regardless of the content of
what is being broadcast. Mcluhan's advertising messages say they have no content and
undeniable impact on consumer opinion and behavior. Under the influence of the media, no
part of us remains untouchable, ineffective, unchanged. Media is a message. Any
understanding of social and cultural change is not possible without knowing the media as a
medium. All media are the extension of man's mental and physical ability. Mcluhan
distinguishes characteristic epochs over nature's dominant media. According to the criterion
of the dominant media, Mcluhan shares human history in the three epochs: the epic before the
alphabet, the ephemera of the alphabet and the prints and the epic of the electronic media. In
the epoch of electronic media under the influence of these media, it is realistic to expect man's
return to himself, his integrative unity, his rich inner life. Electric media especially television
they bring us back to the acoustics, they return our sense of personal identity and make us
connect with people all over the world. Mcluhan has determined the television among the
electric media's central location. Meckvejli made some conclusions for the mass media.

He believes mass media are:

1. A distinct set of activities (creating media content)

2. Incorporating special technological configurations (radio, television, video cassettes,

newspapers, books).

3. Productions are people who take on certain roles

4. Transfer information, entertainment, pictures and symbols to mass audiences.

6
Mass media, mass media and the like are referred to as synonymous media, but any of these
terms implies communication between media (media) and a large number of people, ie mass,
audiences or consumer-viewers, listeners or printers. Media can influence people's thinking
and behavior only if their actions are based on the trusted perceived needs of viewers,
listeners, and readers. The influence of television as well as other means of communication on
our consciousness and behavior is more than obvious. The media and those who respond to
them, set themselves a supreme goal: to stimulate spiritual and political life, as their only goal
is to satisfy the curiosity and demands of their users, readers, listeners, the media of wider
news, encourage the flow of ideas, by the number of different actions of the human mind .

7
3.1 THE IMPACT OD MEDIA ON CHILDREN

The influence of television will depend on various and numerous psychological facts. Among
them, the most influenced is the influence of age, and it turned out that children are more
vulnerable to TV than adults. Television as an invention provides a lot, but more often it is
about its negative effects, because violence is a throat-plan, and it affects children between the
ages of 10 and 14! Television changes the relationship between citizens and the public,
between primary and secondary experience, between one's perception and reality from
another hand, changing the relationship between the concept and the action. The school's
finding is that television hampers concentration. In various studies on the theme of children's
play , it is evident that children who watch TV a lot of aggressive games than those who
watch TV less or not look at it at all. On the other hand, Hovit and Kamberbeck advocate
that television violence has no impact on viewers. The media are connected with society,
thanks to the interplay of media content and life reality.

Often materials from social margins are frizzed and then presented by making it acceptable
and accessible in the mainstream. The media do not have the freedom to create non-existent
social values, although they may affect the way values will be expressed. Mutually
permeating reality and media representation is problematic especially in cases of violence and
pornography. Children are less critical of events that are broadcast on TV. They have a lenient
imagination, surrender more directly to what they are particularly attracted to TV, they are
more likely to accept it unreal as real and more willing to see reality in reality. Some authors
found a significant association of watching TV movies on the TV at the age of 8 and later
criminal behavior at the age of 30.The development of mass communication becomes
significant and overcomes something that a classical school can provide. Media researchers
believe that "it is very likely that the media system with its power surpasses some traditional
agents: family, school, religious facilities. Strengthening the role of the media in the education
of the population - not just the adult - is conditioned by objective facts: the media gives their
materials attractive, closer to the sensitivity of young people, to programs for free choice of
audience.

Psychology as a subsidized area cannot engage enough good authors and lecturers that bring
knowledge closer to people in attractive form, the media just do that. However, the media role
in education also has the other side. Media are developing very fast so that children are
vulnerable to them already in the early years of their lives, and the influence of the media on
children is growing. They are all around them: in the house, in the car, on the street, and
getting used to the media is fast and unexpected. Mobile phones have become multimedial
devices available for all generations over the years and can not only be used to telephonize
but watch tv programs, listen to radio, use the Internet ... The influence of the media on the
lives of children is increasing with age as the number and kind of media increases . Both in
business and in leisure time, we all consume the media and underestimate their influence. It is
unthinkable to spend a day without your favorite TV content, reading press, surfing the
internet. Media influence the formation of people's thinking in society and are of great
8
importance for education of the system of values and attitudes, especially children. Each child
is, to a greater or lesser extent, exposed to their influence on a daily basis. Everyone is
spending less on leisure, playing with other children, and more and more babies who spend
hours on the Internet, in the so-called. virtual world and TV programs whose content is not
adapted to their age. Children are offered a variety of content, but reality program whose
actors are a form of behavior. Messages and pictures that are displayed through the media
remain impressive in the memory of children and we often have cases of imitating something
that we see, without full awareness of the significance and possible consequences. There are
very few instances of mimicking the scenes from movies and series that are broadcast in terms
of the attention of children and that give people extraordinary power, so that, without
realizing the possible consequences, children are hurt by themselves or by another child.
There is less and less content that is of educational character in which children participate
themselves and overcome their knowledge, the content in which children create a program
and handle those topics that are appropriate to them. There are fewer children spending leisure
time reading books and compulsory school lessons. Mostly, they opt for reading out the
abridged content that is offered on the Internet and, often, for rewriting them instead of their
own prepress work.

Children come to the forefront of interest , appear on front pages and in bulletproof
information when they are victims of violence or when they are perpetrators of punishable
offenses themselves. They point out the negative aspects of their behavior, family
circumstances, health status data, or improper estimates of behavior and character, which can
hurt the development of the child. In such cases, their identities are often revealed through the
publication of names, surnames and photographs of children or by publishing the full names
and surnames of their parents, brothers and sisters.

Inappropriate media reporting can further traumatize children and influence their
development, because unreasonable reactions and condemnation of the environment, make
their intimacy accessible, and even compromise their security. It is worrying that confidential
information, which only police, health and social workers who are required to keep them as a
secret, have to go to the journalists and be released. People in the media do not promote the
culture of language, speech, and correct accent, by introducing a standard language of non-
standard accents, jargonism, vulgarism and more. In addition, the use of foreign words is
even more common even when there is an adequate term for that term in our language. The
role of the media certainly has its own positive side. The media largely contribute to raising
the level of awareness of the importance of protecting the rights of the child. Journalists, all
cages, warn of cases of child rights violations in many areas and criticize the shortcomings in
protecting them. They give important and meaningful information, educate, educate, promote
healthy lifestyles etc. Media influence taste formation and represent the fastest way to place
some information. It is especially important to affirm children, promote their achievements,
talents and success, as each of them is encouraged to be better and more successful to speak
about them. The influence of the media on education and cultural enrichment is undisturbed.
Numerous content that is inaccessible to us is just consumed through the media.

9
The influence of the media in education is high and therefore certain media contents are
being used in school and continued. The Internet as a kind of media also has a major role in
the lives of all of us. Thanks to it, we receive accurate information very quickly, learn about
different cultures, pictures and words directly follow important events, and enrich our
knowledge. The media has been created to enrich our knowledge, to inform us quickly, to
bring us closer to events. In the era of electronics and computerization, the world is greatly
changed and media become a vital necessity.

New generations grow alongside media and their content, and thus the meaning of media in
the lives of people changes. Therefore, the media must pay special attention to the provision
of and information about children's information. They must be aware that information and
contents that are not intended for children are posted late in the evening, that the program
content necessarily indicates the age limits from which the child may apply the program, to
enforce the child's privacy and to the child's interest has priority over the attractiveness of the
information.

4. NEW MEDIA

The term new media often uses popular journalism that considers this type of media as the
internet, web pages, television, computers and computer games. This group may include all
television programs that are recorded with a digital video camera and then computer-
processed; teletext, hypertext and all multimedia. We are in the revolution of new media.
Every form of human communication has its own special media grammar.By just mentioning
the term wireless communication, we associate us with wireless LAN communication. E-mail
and internet access today have almost everyone. Without internet access it is unthinkable to
work in any area of society or to educate. Email has changed the lives of millions of people. It
has enabled free communication to users around the world. Computer-mediated
communication is a modified form of well-known human communication and is represented
in all levels of human life. Communication standards do not yet exist, so the language used in
computer communication depends on the individual. The whole world of virtual
communication is cut off from the real one. Wireless communication brings with it more
pronounced security problems than wire systems. Since the wireless network uses a radio
signal spreading through the walls and various other obstacles, it allows anyone in the range
of that signal to receive the data from the wireless communication participant.

Therefore, extreme attention should be paid to the definition of security mechanisms that will
ensure confidentiality, integrity, irrefutability and availability of data for wireless network
participants. The Internet does not have its own thread: the network is where it operates,
races, loves, hates, mourns, and new friendships are made. Thanks to new media, journalism
is experiencing numerous and profound transformations. There was an association of speech,
pictures and text. Today's increasingly popular electronic journals. All users are given special
access to information at any time. The media in the past have not been able to achieve this and
the new media have the ability to transform all groups of recipient information. They also
have their own slogan: "Everyone's customized information" .

žGiven the old sources of information the Internet has several advantages. Global is because it
encompasses the whole world and with it is democratic because the same information has
access to all people. It's current because it keeps coming up with new news. Numerous
documents are found in unavailable places and are not in one piece, and electronic media help
the reporter and ordinary man to easily access the information. With the help of online search
engines, users can easily come to the desired information. It's important to just type in the
search term, and with the help of a keyword, it's easy to find. Due to easy access to
information, the reporter must be creative and resourceful in the triangle he is in. He is the
source of information source, communication channel and user requirements. The
disadvantages of the internet are all abuses of its advantages. The information on the portals is
often unchecked, grammatically incorrect, and anonymous insults, vulgarity, pornography are
allowed.

11
4.1 ETHICS AND MORALITY IN NEW MEDIA

New technologies, as we know, change, better say dehierarchise the society. Everything is
available to everyone and it is possible to have information about how someone wants it. It is
important to know that this disposition has to be ethical and moral, especially in the journalist
profession whose goal is to truthfully and fairly transmit faithful reproduction of the event. In
line with the changes, the question is whether this ethics is altered with the change of
technology, the media? Theoretically, but in practice there is a little different story. The ease
of manipulation of the internet, social networks and forums is one of the reasons why theory
is not used in practice. Of course it is not an excuse, because man carries this ethical norm
that does not allow the use of any medium for unethical purposes.

In any case, technology - the new media - is not the fault of various excrements. Most
decisions result from previous communication practices of the individual, their views, and the
use of e-communications for specific goals. If individuals understand e-communication as a
playground for expressing some of their attitudes towards other people, it will sooner or later
be reflected in communication.

This means that we are answering ourselves for what we are talking about and doing on the
Internet. Addiction is also our fault because Facebook does not help us to deal with and
comment on someone's pictures and statuses. Starting from that, ethics must remain the main
and irrefutable item in new media because only in this way can we live well and serve the
offered information. The need to be online constantly and to inform our friends about what is
happening (not happening) while sitting on a computer is what causes us to addictive
problems and problems that occur when we need to use interpersonal communication instead
of a computer. The Internet is good until we depend on it, just like everything else. It is
important to know that nothing can replace face-to-face communication and that ethics must
not be compromised either by the drastic changes that are waiting for us in the future.

12
5.CONCLUSION

Finally, what is important for both the media and psychology is that they have their own touch
points, and that's not all. They could not function without each other. The media is in all the
spheres of human life, from its very beginnings to death. It is very important to say that the
media developed very quickly, at the very beginning the main medium, that is, the source of
information was a book. The media evolved so well that today we can be informed online,
watching TV, listening to the radio. What a media connection to psychology is the influence
of media on society, the behavior of people, and especially the young narrator. The influence
of the media today is very strong. Media influences human emotions, behaviors, world views,
views of life, and of course accompanying human growth. What I can say with security is that
the media have both their positive and negative impacts. On the positive side, I want tooutline
that information is available to us whenever we are want it. What is negative in all this is that
the youngest are threatened. The children are exposed to violent content, which today is in the
media too. Inappropriate reporting of the media may cause trauma in children, unreasonable
reactions, and distortion of the environment. It influences the formation of their personality,
the way they grow up and their very lives. Parents need to be very careful about the content
they are leaving their children. As I have previously suggested new technologies change the
society. All information is available to everyone and it is possible to dispose of the same as he
or she wants. What is important to know is that information should be used morally and
ethically.
