Finished Measurements: Small Snake: width 1.6“ (4cm), length 33.5“ (85cm)
Large Snake: width 1.2“ (3cm), length 27.5“ (70cm)
Note: Size depends on your gauge! The larger snake is smaller than the
small snake because I used Aran weight yarn for the small one and DK
weight yarn for the large one. For further information see Notes Section
below.

Gauge: Small Snake: 16sc = 4“ (10cm)

Large Snake: 24sc = 4“ (10cm)

Materials: Small Snake: Aran weight yarn (ONline Linie 258 Tequila, 44% cotton, 12% rayon, 44%
acrylic, 88yds (80m) per 50g), about 88yds (80m) in Color 1 and 88yds
(80m) in Color 2)
Large Snake: DK weight yarn (Schoeller+Stahl Batika, 100% Microfiber, 142yds
(130m) per 50g, about 71yds (65m) in Color 1 and 71yds (65m) in
Color 2)
for both sizes:
- crochet hook that is much smaller than you would normally use as these snakes are
crocheted tightly to prevent the stuffing from showing through
- some yarn for tongue
- safety eyes or yarn for eyes
- polyester stuffing
- tapestry needle

Abbreviations (US terminology):

ch - chain sc2tog - [insert hook through next st, pull

rep - repeat up a loop] 2times, then yarn
sc - single crochet through all three remaining loops
on hook
sl st - slip stitch
st/s - stitch/es

Notes:
These snakes are worked in two pieces, one for the upper half and one for the lower one which are
sewn together in the end. I sewed mine in whip stitch. Feel free to use any technique you prefer or
crochet both pieces together.
Use any yarn for your snake. The gauge is not important. I added it to give you an idea of the finished
size.
The snakes are worked in single crochet in rows. Therefore finish each row with ch1 and turn your
work for the next row.

The pattern is written for the small snake. Changes for the large snake are given in parentheses. If
there is only one number given, the instructions are for both sizes.
The number before each instruction does not necessarily indicate the row numbers, they indicate the
individual steps.
The instructions in squared brackets […] need to be repeated. The number of repeats follows after the
brackets.

the eyes.

Sew both pieces together (I sewed the snakes in whip stitch, but you may use any prefered method)
