SIGNS OF TRUE LABOR

Uterine contractions

!| The surest sign that labor has begun is productive uterine contractions
!| Help her predict the pattern and use breathing exercises to give her a sense of control

REACTION:

Knowing the signs of true labor is very important to the mother and especially also to the
nurse so that he or she can assess the mother to be on the labor process. The mother should also
know the signs so that she can assess herself and know when to go to the hospital or clinic to
give birth. Nurses should teach or instruct mothers what to do when they are in labor
