Event Synopsis

Scene Description:
At 11.00 a.m. in the laboratory a topless victim was found faced-up laid on the floor near
to the chair next to the lab table. The chair is fallen in opposite direction of a victim. The victim
got stabbed by cutter on his torso and the cutter was still there. There were few percocet pills on
his hand and an open percocet container next to the right side of victim’s body. Furthermore, we
found a suicide note, lab equipments in the tray, and two cups of coffee on the lab table. One of
the cup laid on the table and in front of it, there was a blood.

- I heard a loud bang earlier in a day.

- No, I don’t.
When is the bang and do you know where?
- It was around 10.50 something. I don’t know where but it may be properly in a lab or
nearby.
What are you doing around here?
- I suppose to have a meeting around 10.30 but when the time I got to the lab I found the
body so I called you guys.
When did you arrive at the lab?
- Around 10.58, I guess
What did you saw?
- My colleagues lied there dead.
How do you know they are dead?
- Trust me, they’re dead.

Test Results

Test: DNA Electrophoresis(Blood Testing)


The DNA taken from the crime scene does not match the victim’s. This can be inferred
that the crime is not a suicidal, but a homicidal.

Test: Drug(Percocet*)
The drug test is negative. The victim did not ingest drug.

*​Percocet​: a prescribed painkiller to relieve short- and long-term pain. It contains oxycodone
that may proceed in addiction. There are side effects concerning percocets in terms of
drowsiness, depression, cardiac problem and death(Kounang and Bender, 2018).

Test: Temperature
Body temperature of the corpse at the investigating time was twenty-five degrees celsius,
equal the room temperature at that moment. The test helps to indicate the time that the person
was dead which was eight hours ago.

Test: Fingerprint
There are two fingerprints collected from the crime scene from the table. Both do not
match each other. This indicates that there were more than one person in the situation.
Investigation Results
The crime is not suicidal, but homicidal due to the mismatching of DNA, positive drug
test and difference of fingerprints. The crime took place eight hours ago.
