1. Pak-China relationship backgrounds:-
Pakistan has a long and symbiotic
relationship with China. Which is based on
mutual support. •Pakistan And China
Relationship Began In 1950 as Pakistan is
the First Muslim Country To Establish
Relations With China. •PAKISTAN helped
china to build a relation with the Muslim
world.
•Due to Pakistan , china became a
member of UN. •The Two Countries Had
Regularly Exchanged High- level Visits
Resulting In A Variety Of Agreements. •
Diplomatic Relations Were Established In
1950. •Military Assistance Began In 1966.
•Economic Co-operation Began In 1979.
2. Diplomatic relations:-
Diplomatic relations between Pakistan
and China were established on 21 May
1951. • In Sino-Indian war 1962, China and
Pakistan joined hands against India. • One
year after Sino- India war, Pakistan built
the Karakoram Tract to China to improve
diplomatic relations.
• AS, Pakistan opened a gate for China to
the West ,that made possible Nixon us
president visit to China in 1972. China in
turn provided extensive economic aid and
political support towards Pakistan. • after
9/11, Pakistan has increased the scope of
Chinese influence and support by agreeing
to a number of military projects, combined
with extensive economic support and
investment from the Chinese. •China
supports Pakistan on Kashmir while
Pakistan supports China on the issues of
Xinjiang ,Tibet, and Taiwan.
3. Economic relations:-
Economic trade between Pakistan and
China is increased in recent years. China
greatly increases its investments in
Pakistan. •a trade free agreement has
been signed recently. •China is helping to
develop Pakistan's infrastructure through
the construction of power plants, roads
and communication nodes. •Pakistan
exports cotton and jute to china. •Zong
(1st 3G and 4G mobile network operator in
Pakistan) is the first overseas setup and it
relates to china.
• China sponsored a wide variety of
projects in Pakistan. •Gwadar Deep Sea
Port. •Larkana sugar mill. •Saindak Copper
project in Baluchistan. •The machine tool
factory of Karachi •Upcoming projects

4. Military relations:-
China enjoys strong defense ties with
Pakistan. •China provided alot of military
equipments to the Pakistan Army, helping
in establishement of factories, providing
technological facilities. as well as
financial support: •Heavy mechanical
complex •Aeronautical complex (kamra)
•The armies had also scheduled a joint
military exercises. • china helped
Pakistan when there is no hope of
external support . • E.g. in 1965,1971 wars
Both , countries are involved in the
several projects to enhance military and
defense systems, which includes : •JF-17
Thunder fighter aircraft •K-8 Karakorum
advance aircraft •Jl-8 aircraft •L-15
aircraft •Al-Khalid tanks •the Babur cruise
missile. •F-22 navel frigates
5. China's role in pakistan's nuclear
programs:-
China helped Pakistan in developing its
nuclear power plants . China gave
technical and material support in
completing. Chashma nuclear power plant
I, II, III ,IV V. That played a major role in
uranium production . •Chinese helped in
building the Khushab reactor, which is
playing a key role in Pakistan's production
of plutonium.
6. Views on Pakistan and China
relationship:-
In world China and Pakistan relations has
been compared to Israel – United States
relations. In 2010, U.S questioned about
Pakistan and china, the Chinese
responded : “ Pakistan is our Israel”
•Pakistan's former President Pervez
Musharraf said about this friendship "time-
tested and all-weather friend",in return
Chinese president Hu Jintao referred
Pakistan as "a good friend and partner”.
7. Issues of Pakistan and china
relationship:-
Taliban which are labeled as Pakistani
terrorists are involved in violence in
Chinese province Xinjiang. Pakistan's
failure to prevent this. • U.S. War On
Terror and China is against of U.S.
influence in the region. as, Pakistan is a
US ally i.e. China is forced to step up its
support in order to maintain its influence
in region .
2010:-
China donated $260 million dollars to
flood hit Pakistan and sent 4 helicopters
for rescue operations.
2011:-
Pakistan bought air-to-air SD 10 missiles
from China.
2013:-
On 24 December , China announced $6.5
billion for the construction of nuclear
power project in Karachi.
2014:-
Chinese companies sign $46 billion of 51
project. On 8 November 2014, Pakistan
and China signed 19 agreements
particularly of $42 billion relating China–
Pakistan Economic Corridor.
2015:-
Recently , after 9 years , Chinese
president (xi jinping) two day visited to
Pakistan on {20 – 21 April}. •Chief of Army
Staff General Raheel Sharif , a two-day
visit to China on 26 January 2015.
Suggestions:-
Relationship of two countries will
continue to grow if we ensure fusion of all
the three pillars of relations – > strategic
>economic >people to people exchanges.
•Establishment of interaction b/w youth of
both countries will be a good plan .
•Pakistan provides proper security to the
Chinese worker and projects in Pakistan.
•Export or import of goods on equal bases,
because Pakistan import more goods as
compare to export.
Conclusion:-
Pak-china relation holds great important
in the world. The need of the time is that
both countries work together to make it
strong. •Pak-China relation is not only on
the political level but people of both the
countries share a deep and special bond.
It was clear from the visit of Chinese
President to Pakistan. •This historic
friendship termed as “stronger than steel,
sweeter than honey, deeper than oceans
and higher than mountain.
