REFLECTION ( Chapter 7 - 9)

In Sociology, group is a very important factor because it affects an individual's life

on how he will adapt and cooperate within the society. It depends upon the quantity,
number of peers and relationship of the individual within his peers. There are different
types of groups such as the In-group or the group within the certain area, Out-groups or
the affiliation of an individual outside the group/society which he belong, Minority
group or the group which is less dominant within the society such as the ethnic groups,
and the Reference group which are the basis of a person. Each of theses groups affect
the individual on how he will cope within the area he belong into. Also, it is very
inportant to have interaction within the people in the society for the culture and
tradition to spread and pass from generation to another one.

On the other hand, group of groups within the society is called the population.
Population comprises the smallest units of the society which is the family. Family is very
essential in enhancing an individual's role in the society because the family is the one
who help them in everyday living and molds them to be a better person because they
are the one who helps them go to school and learn different experiences. Population is
a key factor in the economy because it serves as the workforce for utilizing products and
giving services. If a country have a stable workforce, the economy can rise and the
people can live easily. Also, there is the discipline of Demography which studies the
composition of a population such as age, sex, literacy, life expectancy and others which
are also important to indicate the economy's progress. For example, if there is an equal
ratio of male and female in the society, there will be no problem in marriage and
multiplication of population. Then if there are more in the ages 16-59 than other age
areas, it means that there are more people which are working which helps in the
progress of the society.

Lastly, ecosystem is thr relationship of everything that exists in a particular

environment. It is very important because organisms are interrelated to each other and
each of them has a role in the society. It starts from an individual which gradually gets
bigger when other organisms blend in the society which the biosphere is the largest unit
of the ecosystem. Overall, groups, population and ecosystem are very essential because
it serves as a basis on how an individual can cope and live in the society they belong. As
the famous saying says, "No man is an island".
