These are the Democrats who will be on your
ballot if you live in Calhoun County, as well as
the four proposed amendments to the state
constitution. Of particular importance are
Amendments 1 & 2.

AL State Auditor- Miranda Kirrine Joseph
AL Public Service Commission-Place Number 1- Cara McClura
AL Public Service Commission – Place Number 2- Kari Powell
AL State Representative District 29- Jared Milican

Al Calhoun County Board of Education- Brooke Carbo
Alabama Amendment 1: No opposes amending the state constitution to authorize the display of
the Ten Commandments on public property, including public schools and establish certain
religious rights
Alabama Amendment 2: No opposes this amendment which would pave the way to limiting or
outlawing abortions. The argument is that the state constitution does not have a provision
granting the right to an abortion or to funding of abortions.
Alabama Amendment 3: Board of Trustees Membership for the University of Alabama
Amendment. Yes removes the automatic membership of the state superintendent on UA’s board
of trustees.

Amendment 4: Legislative Vacancies Amendment- Yes establishes that if there is a vacancy in


the state Senate or House on or after October 1 of the year before the regular election, the seat
would remain vacant until the next regular election and that (2) vacant seats could be filled
without an election if only one candidate is running for the vacant seat.
