A pesar de su nivel de inteligencia, Forrest Gump es un hombre que logró a lo largo de

su vida lo que ningún otro personaje "normal" ha podido.

La historia comienza cuando Forrest Gump espera sentado en una parada de autobús,
mientras comienza a relatar la historia de su vida a diversos extraños que se sientan
junto a él.
Comienza narrando su infancia, cuando tuvo que llevar unos aparatos en las piernas que
provocaron la burla de otros niños.
Él vivía con su madre en una casa en el campo en la que alquilaban habitaciones. Allí
Forrest conoció a Elvis Presley y le enseño un baile que lo llevo a la fama mundial.
En el bus escolar durante su primer día de clase Forrest conoce a Jenny, de la que se
enamora inmediatamente y de la que se hace su mejor amigo.
También en su infancia Forrest descubre que es capaz de correr muy rápido, una
habilidad que le permite ingresar en la Universidad de Alabama y conocer en persona al
presidente John F. Kennedy en la Casa Blanca.
Tras graduarse en la universidad, Forrest se enlista en el ejército de los Estados Unidos,
donde se hace amigo de Bubba y ambos son enviados a la guerra de Vietnam.
En este lugar Bubba muere y Forrest resulta héroe al salvar a la mayoría de soldados
heridos entre ellos el teniente Dan Taylor, quien se convierte en su colega en la empresa
camaronera Bubba Gump.
En esa época Forrest descubre su gran habilidad en la práctica del tenis de mesa y
comienza a jugar para el equipo del ejército de los Estados Unidos, en donde gracias a
su fama gana mucho dinero, el mismo que lo utiliza para su empresa camaronera.
Después Forrest regresa a casa a cuidar a su madre enferma que muere a causa del
cáncer, dejándolo solo.
Jenny regresa a visitar a Forrest y se queda un tiempo con él, circunstancia que este
aprovecha para pedirle matrimonio. Ella se niega y acaba por marcharse.
Luego de un largo tiempo recibe una carta de Jenny en la que ella le pide que la visite,
lo que lo lleva a la parada de autobús en la que lo vemos al principio de la película.
Ya en casa de Jenny, ella le revela que tienen un hijo muy inteligente, también llamado
Forrest, y que está enferma, luego ella le propone matrimonio y se casan.
Los tres regresan a la casa de Forrest en Alabama y organizan una boda pequeña a la
cual asiste el teniente Dan.
Jenny y Forrest contraen matrimonio, pero ella muere poco después.
Finalmente, Forrest se queda a cargo de su hijo y dedica su vida a cuidarlo.
Despite his level of intelligence, Forrest Gump is a man who achieved throughout his life what
no other "normal" character has been able to do.

The story begins when Forrest Gump waits while sitting at a bus stop, as he begins to tell the
story of his life to various strangers sitting next to him.

He begins by narrating his childhood, when he had to carry some devices on his legs that
provoked the mockery of other children.

He lived with his mother in a house in the countryside where they rented rooms. There Forrest

On the school bus during his first day of class, Forrest meets Jenny, whom he immediately falls
in love with and becomes his best friend.

Also in his childhood, Forrest discovers that he is able to run very fast, a skill that allows him to
enter the University of Alabama and meet President John F. Kennedy in person in the White
House.

After graduating from college, Forrest enlists in the US Army, where he becomes friends with
Bubba and both are sent to the Vietnam War.

In this place, Bubba dies and Forrest becomes a hero by saving the majority of wounded soldiers,
including Lieutenant Dan Taylor, who becomes his colleague in the shrimp company Bubba
Gump.

At that time Forrest discovers his great skill in the practice of table tennis and begins to play for
the team of the United States Army, where thanks to his fame he earns a lot of money, the same
one who uses it for his shrimp business.

After Forrest returns home to take care of his sick mother who dies of cancer, leaving him alone.

Jenny returns to visit Forrest and stays with him for a while, a circumstance that he takes to ask
for a marriage. She refuses and ends up leaving.

After a long time, he receives a letter from Jenny in which she asks him to visit her, which takes
him to the bus stop where we see him at the beginning of the film.

Already in Jenny's house, she reveals to him that they have a very intelligent son, also called
Forrest, and that she is sick, then she proposes marriage and they marry.

The three return to the house in Forrest in Alabama and organize a small wedding attended by
Lieutenant Dan.

Jenny and Forrest get married, but she dies shortly after.

Finally, Forrest remains in charge of his son and dedicates his life to take care of him.
