Language focus:
Integration of skills: The reading and speaking skills are integrated through
questions and answers. The teacher monitor students’ work by asking
comprehension questions
Materials and resources: board, book (champions 2), extra copy, videotape.
ROUTINE: (2 minutes)
I will greet students, I will say: ‘hello! How are you?’ and I will write the date on the board.
Purpose: to greet my students and create a good atmosphere
What about you? What are you going to do tomorrow?. I will bring a balloon; I will throw
it, when it touches a student he/she has to answer. I will write my sentences on the
board in order to provide them a model. Encourage students to speak about their plans.
Ex 1: listening: I will say that we are going to do ex 1, we listen and we match the people with
the activities they enjoy. We check together

Focus students’ attention on plans. Ask them to underline in the text the peoples’ plans.
Ex 2: I will say that we have to answer the questions based on the paragraphs we’ve read. We

going to provide the answers, I will write them on the board. Encourage complete answers;
the answers. Ask them to wait till everyone is ready to move on.

I will bring students and extra activity. I will say that they have to look at the picture and
describe what the people are going to do in the park. First students are going to say the
sentences, and then they write the answers.
