Now a museum, but still used for official government meetings and events, the
Independence Palace was the former home of the president of South Vietnam during the
Vietnam War.

b. Saigon Cathedral of Notre Dame
Probably not quite as grand as the Notre Dame de Paris, but nevertheless an important
cathedral and landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, the Notre Dame Cathedral marks the center
of the French colonial heritage in Saigon.
The cathedral is beautiful, with a statue of the Virgin Mary in the front lawn area. Make
sure that you can get a great photo of Virgin Mary with the cathedral in the background.
There happened to be a wedding taking place when we visited, a sight I'm sure is quite
common :v
Dylan
c. Central Post Office
Right across the street from the Saigon's Cathedral of Notre Dame, within the same city
square, is yet another renowned landmark, the Central Post Office.
Again, just like quite a few other buildings in Saigon, it’s the French colonial architecture
that really stands out.
But even more so here, one of the top reasons the post office is one of the top Saigon
attractions is because it was designed by Gustave Eiffel (yes, the man who also engineered
the Eiffel Tower in Paris).
Linh
d. Book street
Sai Gon book street – A great destination for book lovers
Saigon’s book street has since been referred to as a ‘paradise’ for book lovers, and so far
it has been living up to its reputation. Saigon book street is not only the longest but also
presumably the most diversified of its kind.
Tomorrow, you will enjoy Mekong tour in the southwest of Vietnam. But interesting
activities there will be kept secret until tomorrow
Dylan
On 2nd, August, you will have chance to explore and buy some Vietnamese souvenirs at
e. Ben Thanh market
Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1 is a great place to buy local handicrafts,
branded goods, Vietnamese art and other souvenirs. Here, you’ll find eating stalls inside
the market where you can get a taste of hawker-style Vietnamese cuisine or simply cool off
with a cold drink when the bargaining becomes too much.
As Ben Thanh market, you can buy shirt, fashion accessories, jewelry, souvenirs and a lot
of other things with the fixed price. This shopping mall is high appreciated by the tourist.
For challenges throughout the program, we would like to divide you into 3 team.

Vietnam, is enjoyed by people throughout Southeast Asia,
The festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar, which
falls in mid September in the Western calendar
Linh
The tradition of the Mid-Autumn festival is reflected in the way the children play games.
They carry beautifully ornate lanterns while singing and parading along the streets.
