Project Our app was inspired by delivery food apps and in order to make our app
distinctive we ran a survey test. We asked what features were lacking in
food apps and found out that many wished that there was an allergy and
Brief diet filter that would work well. After the results, we decided that this would
be our app’s key feature and benefits.
Our app “Eat” has an intuitive and simple filter allows people to get the
food they want or need. Because we are partnering up with many restau-
rants, the foods will be completely vetted and guaranteed allergy free if it
says so.
Additionally, a feature that no other app does is having the nutrition value
for the food. This purpose is for people who are on a strict diet that might
count certain calories for an example. This has never been done in any of
our competitors apps and because we are partnering up with restaurants,
it allows us to do so.

We researched our biggest competitor
Research
Postmates. Studying the app screen, we also
created their flowchart. Additionally we cre-
ated a survey to see what people want in a
food app but also what they thought is work-
ing for the current ones.

Postmates is a simple delivery app that allows their customers to choose
over 25k restaurants, cafes, etc for their meal. Not only does Postmates
deliver food from restaurants but they also deliver groceries. They prom-
ise that “anything, anytime, anywhere. We get it.” - Postmates
Users can set up an account with their Facebook or their email and be-
gin start ordering from a wide selection of places. Postmates also offers a
free trial of their free delivery service where members can choose to pay
10$/month to avoid paying for delivery.

Survey Ideation
Results

Our team created flow charts to help make sure our app is easily naviga-
ble and accessible. While we ran into many great success, we also ran
into a few issues. We originally had a separate filter and search bar but
that was redundant and so we decided to combine both features. We also
used to have food types as the main attraction on the main page, but in-
stead decided to feature restaurants on our home page instead.
