I. RATIONALE
Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 491, the Nutrition Act of the Philippines, the National
Nutrition Council (NNC) leads the observance of National Nutrition Month.
With the theme “Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin” This year’s celebration of
National Nutrition Month aims to improve the healthy food consumption of Filipinos, food security or
to be self-sufficient as possible with backyard gardening. Having food gardens can help improve the
family as well as the community's food security. If you have plenty of vegetables or fruit crops, you
can even sell some of them to earn additional income for the family.
In line with the celebration of the nutrition month the TVL teaches will also be conducting a
school based skills competition in the different specializations in preparation for the up-coming
DFOT. The activity will definitely provide the secondary school learners with opportunities to
showcase their talents through exhibitions of their products and performances as evidence of their
learning and extend parallel learning sessions for teachers and learners to enhance their knowledge
and skills in their respective fields of interest.
III. Objectives
A. Date:
The proposed date of the Seminar in Basic Photography and Flair tending will be on July 13,
while the School Based Skills Competition will be on the last week of the month. Students who
are interested to join the above mentioned activities should register to the teacher in-change and
be informed of the guidelines.

Guidelines:
General Guidelines:
1. Each team must have (2) two members from any strand.
2. Each team will be given (2) hours to perform to complete the task
3. Each team will be judged with the following criteria such as; Speed, Quality, Originality and
Safety. The weighted scores will be provided by the teacher in-charge according to
specialization.
