SERVICE RULES
1. Use genuine HONDA or HONDA·recommended parts and 'ubricants or the ir eq uivalents. Paris thai don't meet HONDA's
design spec ifications may cause damage to Ihe moto rcycle .
2. Use the special tools designed for t his prod uct to avoid damage and incorrect assembly.
3. Use on ly met ric tools w hen serviCing the motorcycle. Metric bolts, nuts and s<:rews arQ not interchangeable w ith English
fasteners.
4. Ins tall new gaskets, 0 ·ring5. cotter pins, and lock plates when reassemb ling.
5. When t ightening baits o r nuts. begin with the la rger diameter o r inner b olt first. Then t ig hte n to the spec ified torque
diagonally ill i"eramari/al steps un less Ii partieuliff sequence i~ specified,
6. Clean parts in clean ing solvent upon disassembly. l ubrica te any sl id ing su rl aces before reassembly.
7. After reassembly, check all pa rts for proper installa tion aod o~ratIO o .
