May be a silly question but is there any way to set an av input as default when you
turn the TV on?
I've just installed Sky HD and want the TV to go to it as soon as I turn it on.
Obviously it was fine through scart with Sky+ cos of scart control but I assume HDMI
is not the same.
The main point is that it seems almost pointless using the Sky remote to control TV
museumstev volume etc if you have to still use the TV remote to switch to AV4 (HDMI) evertime
e you turn the TV on.
Well-known Member AS soon as I switch my set on it defaults to Digital TV which is even more frustrating
as I cant get freeview in my area so nothing comes on anyway lol..

if you press analogue on your remote when you turn on tv it will automatically show
it on restart, hdmi on your tv doesnt support auto switching like a scart socket does

Found out today that if you press 'Help' and 'TV Guide' buttons at the same time on
sky remote it changes av input on TV haha..bizarre secret combo.

On my KDL-40V2500 if I'm watching AV5 (Sky HD HDMI) and turn the TV off, when I
turn it back on again it's showing AV5...

Hm... strange... Whenever I switch my Bravia back on from standby, it turns on with
bartjuh the last TV(!) channel I choose... Even if I ended my previous session with AV5

Ratings: +6 A: Unfortunately no. Sony LCDs have done this for a while. The only possible
solution I can offer is to buy a programmable remote control such as a Logitech
Harmony and configure the On button to turn on and choose the input you want (the
software can apparently do this).
The W-Series does not do this and instead turns on to the last input that was being
used before the TV was turned off. It looks like this annoyed enough people so Sony
changed it!
As far as i know, HDMI 1.3a Allows automatic switching. But all tv's manufactured by
SOny so far have HDMI 1.2 (I think). The new D and S3000 automatically switch
over in work with our Sky HD box, so i'm guessing theyu have a HDMI 1.3.
Its worthy of note, if you press the enter button on the centre of the remote, it
brings up a quick list of your av's. Allowing a quicker access to all of them, rather
justind than the dreaded (av button).

You can get Bravias to 'Skip' AV channels. So if you want AV4 to be the first set 1, 2
& 3 to skip. I am only using 4 and 5 on mine. It's not ideal, but still far less button
pressing.

Assuming you have set up the Sky HD controller for your TV:-
press TV
Hold select and help (red light on remote flashes twice)
navzptc press help (until you find the correct AV input you want)
Active Member press select
Then when you press Sky, TV Guide, Box Office, Services or Interactive button, sky
will auto switch to the correct Av
